The Australian housing market is now worth - wait for it - $8.1 trillion.

Yet it wasn't too long ago that the 'experts' were predicting property prices were going to fall off a cliff.

Moral of the story is there are always going to be plenty of opinions floating around, so it's worth keeping in mind that investing in real estate is a long game.

We can't predict the future, but history dictates that investing in property is as safe as...well, houses.
