Ok so I can finally announce the Chimu photographers have convinced Chimu to run another Southern Lights flight, provided we can get the numbers needed to fill the plane.
Soooo I have set up an expression of interest on my website. I don’t need to tell you this is once in a lifetime opportunity but this will likely be the last time the flight it run…ever.

TrES-2b is the darkest planet ever discovered—reflecting less than 1% of the light that hits it. That’s darker than coal, darker than black acrylic paint.

Located about 750 light-years from Earth, this gas giant orbits extremely close to its star, where we’d expect it to glow brightly. But instead, it’s almost invisible.

Scientists believe this eerie darkness may come from light-absorbing chemicals in its atmosphere or the absence of reflective clouds that normally bounce light back.

No other planet we’ve found is this dark.

It’s not just a world—it’s a cosmic shadow hiding in plain sight.
