🌊 Could the Strait of Hormuz be starting to reopen? - 26/8/2026 (Wednesday)
Iran and Oman have resumed talks on managing commercial traffic, including a possible “joint temporary navigational corridor” for commercial vessels. Iran has also allowed some Iraqi oil tankers to pass through the Strait.
🛢️ Oil: WTI fell to around $80.50, while Brent was already down 5.6%.
⚠️ Supply Risks: Shipping through Hormuz remains far below normal levels.
🥇 Gold: Spot gold slipped around 0.5%, but remains near a three-month high.
With tensions showing signs of easing, markets are watching closely to see whether oil supply disruptions could finally start to improve.
