Please note our Wauchope store will be closed due to storm water damage from the storms on Thursday. Unfortunately the stormwater system overflowed through our store and we need to close while we repair the floor and fixtures.

We are not closing 🙂 we will rebuild and be back open as soon as possible. In the meantime if you require any assistance we can help you from our Port Macquarie Store located on Bellbowrie Street at the Hub Centre.

CYBER CRIME IS REAL AND CONSTANT

Cyber Security should be reviewed continuously and awareness of possible cyber scams needs to be constant.

One piece of advice I give is to share stories of times where a cyber criminal tried to deceive you.

Practicing what I preach I will share a couple of stories with you.

(Story 1)
I am a vice president and treasurer of a not for profit association.

I often get emails from someone claiming to be the president attaching an invoice that needs urgent payment, usually at 4pm of a Friday when I might be at my busiest trying to finish up my work week.

(Story 2)
I was on a trip to Sydney wearing my business shirt with a company logo. I used the train from the airport to the city.

I assume someone at a train station looked up the business and obtained my email address. I received an email claiming to be from the company that looks after the Opal cards stating that my train card had expired and my train fare at Central Station had not been paid. They gave me two hours to pay a fine and advised if it was not paid a much larger fine would be issued.

Both stories have something in common, they used factual information to build credibility.
