If you havent been paying attention, Interest Rates have been lifted 0.5%!

This is another 13% increase in your monthly repayment. (44% over the last three months) and likely we'll see more coming.

Here's what you can do about how it affects you:

1) Use the Utilities Comparison. You'll likely save yourself $300 a year.

2) Cancel subscriptions and services you don't use- got 3 streaming services, but only watch one? Or maybe you're paying for the sports add on to Foxtel but never watch it. Or perhaps a gym membership you rarely utilise. CANCEL THEM.

3) Stop shopping at the supermarket and 25 times a week. Plan your meals out. Go shopping once, and only buy what you need. Utilise Farmers and Local Markets. This not only helps local suppliers but also can be ridiculously cheaper and better quality. Also, download a fuel comparator app and start locking in your price/at least checking for your options

4) If you haven't already, have your mortgage assessed to see if you can get a better deal elsewhere.

5) You'd think this one would be common sense, but STOP SPENDING MONEY ON S**T YOU DONT NEED! Create a budget and stick to it. Unnecessary spending instantly jacks up your cost of living and lowers your wealth position

Inflation is actually a thing, and rates will continue to rise as will the price of petrol, it's time to change your behaviour to protect your own interests.
