🌟 DISABILITY SUPPORT WORKERS WANTED
South of the River – Perth, WA
Approximately 30 hours per week | Consistent, ongoing shifts
We’re looking for reliable, compassionate and emotionally mature disability support workers to join a small, established team supporting young men with disabilities in their family home.
This isn’t a revolving-door support environment.
We’re looking for people who want to build genuine, lasting connections, take pride in their work and become a consistent, positive presence in the lives of the young men they support.
❤️ Our Home, Our Approach
Our home is a family home first.
We value laughter, kindness, patience, dignity and genuine human connection.
Our philosophy is simple:
Connection before expectation.
We believe good support comes from understanding the individual, recognising their communication needs and knowing when to encourage, when to assist and when to give someone space.
We have a small team that works well together, and we’re looking for the right people to complement that environment.
⭐ Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for people who:
✅ Are reliable, punctual and committed to consistent shifts.
✅ Have strong professional boundaries and understand the importance of confidentiality.
✅ Can work collaboratively and respectfully with other staff.
✅ Understand that professional responsibilities always come before workplace friendships.
✅ Are emotionally mature, calm under pressure and confident supporting complex behaviours.
✅ Can accept constructive feedback, ask questions and communicate concerns respectfully.
✅ Respect the family’s knowledge, routines and role in directing household supports.
✅ Show initiative without overstepping professional boundaries.
✅ Understand that disability support is about empowering individuals, not simply completing tasks.
✅ Have a genuine interest in building positive, long-term relationships.
We value character, accountability and a willingness to learn just as highly as experience.
🏡 The Role
Support includes:
• Personal care and daily living activities
• Community participation and outings
• Supporting communication and independence
• Positive behaviour support strategies
• Epilepsy awareness and seizure management
• Following individual routines and support plans
• Working cooperatively within a small household team
🕒 Availability
We require applicants who can commit to consistent rostered hours:
Monday–Friday: 8-hour shifts
Saturday–Sunday: 7-hour shifts
Approximately 30 hours per week, depending on roster requirements.
Some overnight availability for both emergency or respite support is also required.
Consistency is essential. We are seeking people who can commit to regular days rather than constantly changing availability.
✅ Essential Requirements
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
• Relevant NDIS Worker Orientation Modules
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Current driver’s licence with a safe driving history
• Confidence supporting individuals with complex needs
• Experience in behaviour support and epilepsy management is highly regarded; relevant training can be provided.
💬 A Final Word
We’re not looking for perfection.
We’re looking for people who are dependable, honest, respectful and willing to work as part of a team.
People who understand that a family home is also someone’s workplace, and that both deserve respect.
If you believe good disability support starts with connection, professionalism and genuine care, we’d love to hear from you.
📩 To apply: Please send a brief introduction outlining your experience, your regular availability and why you feel you would be a good fit for our team.
