$3 Trillion is set to pass through Generation X as part of Australia's great wealth transfer.

But only half of Gen X have a will.

In the latest episode of The Purposeful Investor, David Andrew and Aden Wilkins are joined by Morgan Solomon, founder of Solomon Hollett Lawyers. to unpack the second volume of the Inheritance State of research.

Based on a survey of around 900 Western Australians across age groups and wealth brackets, the research reveals a significant gap between what Australians assume will happen to their estate and what they have actually put in place.

Some of the findings:
- 41% of Australians are now on track to die without a will
- Just 18% of families have had a detailed conversation about their estate
- 57% of Gen Z expect an inheritance dispute, compared with just 27% of boomers.

The episode also explores the rise of the "thin veneer of affluence", people who may appear financially secure but are carrying significant debt and financial pressure, and what this means for future inheritance claims.

With trillions of dollars set to change hands between generations, estate planning is becoming an increasingly important part of the broader wealth conversation.

Apollo Lupescu from Dimensional Fund Advisors returns to The Purposeful Investor Podcast to join Aden Wilkins and David Andrew for a conversation about some of the questions investors are asking most right now. From rising government debt to the role of bonds, Apollo has a unique ability to make complex investment concepts easy to understand.

In this episode, they discuss:

- Why US government debt has grown to around $40 trillion and why the growth rate has looked remarkably similar under both political parties.
- The metric that actually matters: the cost of paying interest on the debt relative to the size of the economy.
- How bonds work in plain English and why maturity and credit quality drive the interest rate a borrower has to pay.
- Why the bond market acts as the ballast in a portfolio and underpins the cost of money across the entire financial system.
- A simple framework for every investment decision: ownership, lending and non-economic activity.
- The real risks in private credit and private equity, and the question every investor should ask before chasing higher returns: Is the juice worth the squeeze?

What does it really take to perform at a high level when life doesn't go to plan?

In the latest episode of The Purposeful Investor, David Andrew and Aden Wilkins sit down with former Hockeyroo and Olympian Fiona Ryan to explore the mindset behind high performance.

Fiona's story extends far beyond elite sport. From representing Australia on the world stage, to navigating a serious cancer diagnosis, building a career in law, becoming a mother, and launching her own business, she shares the lessons she's learned about resilience, discipline and making decisions under pressure.

It's a conversation about more than success. It's about how we respond when things get difficult, how we stay focused on what matters most, and what high performance looks like in different seasons of life.

For investors, many of the themes will feel familiar. The ability to remain calm during uncertainty, stay committed to a long-term plan, and make thoughtful decisions when emotions are running high.

A powerful discussion on mindset, resilience and the habits that help us perform when it matters most.
