As we come to the close of 2025, I would like to wish you and your family a very happy and relaxing holiday season.

I will be taking a break to spend time with my family from the 19th of December, returning to the office on 5th of January 2026 🪇.

This year has brought some wonderful highlights, including participating in the AFG Women on the Move Scholarship in Melbourne and being named a finalist in the 2025 MFAA State Excellence Awards (WA) for the Diversified Business Award.

Perth’s property market continued to experience strong growth, with an increase in equity releases used for investment purchases, debt consolidation, and home renovations. In positive economic news, 2025 saw the Reserve Bank of Australia cut the official cash rate three times a 📉 welcome shift following the previous year.

If you have a loan application currently in progress, please continue to stay in touch with our office for updates during this period.

Wishing you a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2026 ✨

🚨 Big changes to trust & company-structure lending — and what it means for borrowers

In recent weeks two of Australia’s major lenders, Macquarie Bank and Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA), have introduced new restrictions on loans to trusts and companies.

Why the change? Lenders cite rising complexity, compliance burdens and concern about “spruiker style” strategies promoted on social media where investors using trusts or companies take on large property-loan portfolios to amplify borrowing power.

💡What this means for you:

🔹If you’re considering buying property or investing through a trust or company, you may now find lending harder to secure or more limited than before.

🔹Existing loans to trusts and companies aren’t being cancelled, but new applications may be blocked or need extra hoops.

🔹Investors may need to re-think whether using a trust or company structure still makes sense, simpler ownership (e.g. personal name) could become more attractive.

Bottom line: the “trust-loan era” may be entering a new phase, one where lenders are stricter, compliance matters more, and investors need to be smarter about their structure and borrowing plans.

If you use (or are thinking about using) a trust for investing, now’s the time to review your strategy and understand your options 🏡✨

📉 RBA cuts cash rate to 3.60%

The Reserve Bank has lowered the official cash rate by 0.25%, responding to easing inflation (now within the 2–3% target) and a softening job market.

This could impact your mortgage, borrowing power, or investment plans. Want to know what it means for you? Let's chat. 💬

📉 RBA Cuts Rates – What It Means for You

In welcome news for mortgage holders, the RBA has just cut the cash rate by 0.25% to 3.85%. Why? Inflation’s finally cooling off – with key data showing it’s now within the RBA’s target range at 2.9%.

This rate cut is a sign the RBA’s growing more confident – but they’re still keeping a close eye on things like:

🔹 Global risks (Trump’s tariffs are back in the mix)
🔹 Local job market strength – unemployment is steady, and wages are creeping up

💡 What does this mean for you?

If you’ve got a mortgage, you might see lower repayments soon. It could also be a good time to review your loan, refinance, or consider property opportunities.

We had an incredible experience being part of the AFG Women on the Move program in Melbourne this year!

The program was not only fun but also deeply rewarding and reflective. It provided us with the space to step back from the day-to-day grind and really focus on growth - both personal and professional. The insights I gained around business development, leadership, and mindset will stay with me for a long time.

One of the most powerful parts of the program was connecting with an amazing group of women from all walks of life - each with her own unique story, career path, and perspective. Despite our different backgrounds, there was a strong sense of connection, support, and shared ambition in the room.
The conversations, laughs, and learnings reminded us how powerful it is when women come together with openness and purpose.

A huge thank you to our wonderful hosts Marissa Schulze and Katrina Rowlands who generously shared their time, stories, and knowledge. We walked away inspired, motivated, and grateful.

Here’s to more programs like this that empower women to grow, connect, and thrive. Thanks AFG & Westpac 💪✨
