All eyes are on the Reserve Bank of Australia today, with the market and major bank economists widely expecting a 25 basis point increase in the official cash rate.

HSBC Australia is exiting retail banking and has agreed (subject to regulatory approval) to sell its home & personal loan book to Blackstone, with Pepper Money expected to manage the loans in H1/2027. No action is required from customers — existing interest rates, fees, discounts and repayments will transfer and loans will continue on current terms until the move.

In‑flight purchase/refinance applications must be submitted by 08/14/2026; approvals, variations and commissions will be honoured until transfer.
