On Tuesday afternoon, Australia’s central bank chose to pause interest rates at the final meeting of 2023, amid signs of inflation slowing down.

The next RBA board meeting isn’t until 6 February 2024, which means mortgagees have some breathing room!

A very welcome sign, as we look forward to more positive financial indicators in 2024.

First Home Buyer Low Deposit Scheme

The Scheme allows eligible First Home Buyers to contribute as little as 5% of the property's value, plus associated costs (Stamp Duty & Legals) to their Purchase. In addition, if purchasing within certain price brackets, First Home Buyers are eligible for Stamp Duty Concessions.

The Scheme, in coordination with the Concession, has been a great way for First Home Buyers to enter the property market with a smaller deposit, or retain funds post purchase for relocation and furniture costs.

Post inception, the Scheme has been enhanced, to ensure it is as valuable as possible, and capturing the people who will benefit most.

The Scheme is available Nation wide, with specific requirements per state.

Did you know that Credit Enquiries are weighted to 50% of your Credit Score?

Your Comprehensive Credit Report is a detailed report, covering two years’ worth of personal and financial data.

This data can determine not only your credit worthiness, but also, the lender, loan product and interest rate you are eligible for.

If you have a low Credit Score, or negative events such as poor repayment history or defaults, there is still a lot of Lenders that can support you in your goals.

Firstly, we would review your options in ‘repairing’ the Credit Report. Actions such as no applications for three months, and timely repayments to existing facilities can help – but sometimes, we may also need to engage a company that can remove Defaults or Judgements.

Recent success stories have included:
1. Removal of Paid Default prior to applying for a Home Loan.
2. Utilising a Lender with a suitable Credit Policy, to lend to a client with a poor Credit Score (
