Earlier this month, the ICFAL team had the privilege of attending the Muslim Wealth Summit Sydney 2026, held on 6–7 June at Novotel Sydney Olympic Park and Bryan Brown Theatre.

Representing ICFAL, our Director, Nashat Qadan, together with Mohammed Mahboob Murshid, joined Muslim professionals, entrepreneurs, financial advisers, and community leaders for meaningful discussions on ethical wealth creation, Islamic finance, and building stronger communities.

It was also a pleasure catching up with Ismail Davids, Chief Executive Officer of National Zakat Foundation Australia.

We thank the organisers, speakers, and all those who contributed to such an inspiring event. We look forward to continuing these conversations and supporting initiatives that empower our community, Insha'Allah.

From the outside the conventional and Islamic financial system may at times look similar.

And its important to remind members that Islamic Finance didn’t re-invent the wheel, it perfected it.

We remind members that Islamic finance is a set of guiding principles and rules that allows for to invest and finance into activities that may generate economic benefits. All within the guidelines of course!

Throughout this month, the ICFAL team had the privilege of visiting several masajid and centres across Sydney as part of our ongoing community outreach initiative.

From reconnecting with familiar faces to meeting new members of our community, each visit was an opportunity to listen, learn, and have meaningful conversations and how we can better support Australian Muslims in achieving their financial goals while staying true to their values.

We're grateful for the warm welcome we received at every stop.

At ICFAL, we believe that building strong financial futures begins with building strong relationships. We're committed to continuing these conversations and remaining an active part of the communities we serve.

Murabaha is a Shariah-compliant financing ICFAL uses for car financing.

Here's a quick overview of the contract:
🚗 You choose the vehicle.
🤝 ICFAL purchases the vehicle on your behalf.
📋 The purchase cost and profit margin are disclosed upfront.
💰 You purchase the vehicle from ICFAL at an agreed price and repay it over time.

The key difference? The profit is earned through the sale of an asset, not by charging interest on money.

Diminishing Musharakah is the Shariah-compliant partnership model ICFAL uses for home financing.

Here's a quick overview of the contract:

🏠 You and ICFAL purchase the property together.
🤝 Both parties contribute towards the property's ownership.
📈 Over time, you gradually buy ICFAL's share through agreed payments.
🏡 As your share increases, ICFAL's ownership decreases.
✅ At the end of the financing term, you become the sole owner of the property.

Unlike conventional financing, Diminishing Musharakah is based on partnership and shared ownership, making it a financing structure that aligns with Islamic principles.
