What a beautiful morning! Perfect conditions for Ocean Grove Parkrun's 108 finishers today, with 17 PBs and 25 first timers. Thank you to all our volunteers who do a wonderful job each and every week to bring this event to you - Seamus (*150* 🥳), Sophie, Sadie, Benji, Tina, Dot, Barb, Hugh, John, Elly, Jane, Lindy, Russell, Vin, Sarah and Sarah. And two special shout outs - to Janelle, for volunteering AND to welcome her to our Run Director crew ⭐⭐⭐, and Sarah for volunteering AND her *250* milestone - thank you for all the hard work and commitment to make Parkrun happen!!

🚨 Become a Run Director! 🚨

Every Saturday, walkers, joggers, runners and buggy-pushers turn up at Ocean Grove because **someone makes it happen**. Right now, we need at least one other Run Director to keep our parkrun happening - and we're hoping it's you!

❓❓FAQ corner

"Do I need experience?" Nope. Nobody is born a Run Director. There's a script for the brief, a checklist for everything, and a support crew who've all done it before and lived to tell the tale.

"Isn't it a massive commitment?" Nope. About 90 minutes on the day plus a bit of prep during the week. We rotate responsibilities so it's only every 4-6 weeks.

"Will I get to make terrible jokes?" Of course! This is arguably the main benefit.

"What if I mess up?" You won't. There's not really a way to mess up.

Think you might be interested — or even just curious? Drop us a message, come chat to us at the café after Saturday's run, or comment below and we'll reach out. Or come shadow me (Elly) this Saturday — zero commitment, full access to my mistakes, free coffee at the café afterwards (probably).

Great morning at Ocean Grove parkrun today even tho it was a bit cold and rainy! Well done to the fabulous 229 parkrunners, walkers, joggers and volunteers who made it out to our lovely course.

Our Volunteers are the greatest and we couldn’t do this without you all. Thanks to Tina, Dot, John, Hannah, Seamus, Lindy, Vin, Mitch, Alysha, Elly, Sandra, Megan, Sarah, and for Greg and Reuben for helping out scanning. We love you guys. Please consider volunteering!

We had visitors from near and far and we appreciate all the wonderful tourists who came out to say hello from Buninyong, Wilson, Marribynong, Ballarat, Leongatha, Karkarook, Mildura, parkville and more.

We had some personal bests achieved despite the weather and some amazing first timers who have joined the parkrun community.

Results are posted and thanks for coming out to Ocean Grove parkrun. 🏃🏾‍♀️🏃🏻👟🐾🎽🏃😊
