The biggest risk this summer? climate.
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that this Summer will bring above average heat and rainfall, increasing the threat of fire or flood. These are now common risks, not outliers.

Cyber threats? continue to climb.
Email fraud and data loss are up. The Australian Cyber Security Centre states roughly 3 in 5 cyber incidents are caused by weak basics such as poor passwords or outdated softwares. Use multi-factor authentication, back up offsite data and regularly run phishing tests to minimise the risks.

Here are some practical steps to keep your SME prepared:

As we head into the holiday season, our team will still be here to support you - just with limited availability across some offices.

As well as the appropriate insurance for your home, farm or business you should take the appropriate actions to help make your property safer during the dry season ☀️

To mitigate any risk of trauma, loss or injury to your property, livestock or loved ones its important that you prepare. Prior to and during the bushfire season there are many actions you can take to best protect your property, here are some additional check boxes to consider:

- Have an up to date emergency kit
- Remove any flammable material from the immediate perimeter of the property
- Take photos of your valuables and prepare an emergency bag in the case of an emergency evacuation
- Make sure all local numbers & neighbours phone numbers are up to date

Last Friday, Kath and a few others from our Canberra branch generously donated their time on behalf of Macey Insurance Brokers to organise and pack bags of essentials items at a ‘Packing Party’ run by Team National 🌸🩰🎟️

This packing party was organised to further contribute to the national ‘it’s in the bag’ Christmas appeal run through Share the Dignity. This organisation calls on Australians to help ensure women and girls spending Christmas in domestic violence refuges, homeless shelters or living in poverty are able to receive basic essentials for Christmas through this ‘It’s in the bag’ Christmas appeal.

A huge thank you to our staff who have donated to a worthwhile cause & for our Canberra teams efforts at this fun filled ‘packing party’ 🥳

Now many girls and women will recieve, not only essential items, but a sense of hope on Christmas Day that will have a lasting impact. 🎄

And that's a wrap for the 12th Annual SBC and Macey Insurance Brokers Charity Golf Day!⛳🏌️‍♂️

Last Friday, 21st November, twenty five teams teed off to contribute to raising a remarkable $26 639 for 3 deserving local charities: BCR Communities, Can Assist- Shoalhaven Branch and Shoalhaven Defence Families Association

A huge shout out to the SBC golf day committee for organising such a successful day. And a heartfelt thank you to our hole sponsors and all players involved in the day.

✔ A special mention to all the players who got involved with our 'Happy Gilmore' nativity hole on the day to help fundraise, delivering an array of laughs and camaraderie.
