Last 365 days of my 30s starts today.

Extremely grateful for where I am at in life right now.

A beautiful family, a growing business, great clients, plenty of chaos, plenty of coffee… and somehow still trying to figure out how to balance being Adviser Dad to the Adviser Kids, a square pig pet owner, a doting husband to an extreme athlete, and actual adult all at the same time. 😂

One thing I’ve learnt getting older is that success isn’t really about flashy stuff. It’s about freedom, time with your family, good health, meaningful work and building something that actually matters.

Also, apparently compound interest works on birthdays, because they seem to come around faster every year.

Thanks to everyone who has supported Avanti Wealth so far.

We’re only just getting started.

Big news for Avanti Wealth.

After a lot of speculation, and much to Boss Lady's disgust, we can officially confirm Anthony Albanese has joined the business as a 47% owner and business partner. 🤝

He doesn’t do a lot of work, and we didn’t exactly vote for him, but our hands were tied.

Adviser Dad is doing his best to smile through it, while Peggy the Square Pig is trying to work out why Mr Albanese keeps looking in her direction.

Although… judging by the photo, there’s still some debate in the office about whether he’s looking at Peggy, or Boss Lady at the printer...

Either way, Peggy’s uncomfortable.

We wanted to win the race, so we jumped in the kart and just started driving.

We’re not the fastest and we don’t really know what we’re doing yet… but we’re still in the race.

Dad says investing is kind of the same — you don’t have to be perfect, you just have to start.

Even if you go slow at the beginning, you’re still moving and that’s better than doing nothing.

So we just started… and you should too! 🚗💨

This picture pretty much sums up how most people start investing. You’re standing there trying to decide

“Do I go with the bank?”
“Maybe the mining company?”
“What if I pick the wrong one?”

I’ve been there, and early on, I thought that was the whole point. I would look endlessly trying to find the best company and back it in. Sometimes it works, but sometimes it doesn’t.

What changed for me was realising I didn’t actually need to be right every time, I just needed to stop being wrong in a big way.

That’s where the basket comes in.

Instead of picking one or two eggs, you own a bit of everything — energy, healthcare, tech, financials… the whole ASX200.

Some eggs crack, but most will turn into something great, and you’re never relying on just one.

Funny thing is… while I’m still standing there overthinking it, Peggy’s already figured it out! She’s not trying to be clever, she’s just being consistent.

And in investing, that usually wins.

Over the weekend we celebrated another big milestone in the Avanti household. My beautiful Emma turned 8 years old ❤️

You make me proud every single day, not just for how smart and capable you are, but for the kind, funny, and caring person you’re becoming. Watching you grow is one of the greatest joys of my life.

Keep being curious, keep being brave, and never stop being you.

Last night I celebrated 10 years of being married to Boss Lady ❤️

Three kids, a business, and a whole lot of chaos in between, and somehow she still puts up with me 😅

She’s been there through every stage. Before Avanti, during the leap, and everything we’re building now and I wouldn’t be here without her.

Even Peggy trying to crash the date couldn't ruin the night

Spent the day on the Sunshine Coast with the team at Australian Retirement Trust.

Always valuable getting insights straight from the source — not headlines, not noise… real market thinking.

Big thanks to Brian Parker for sharing his outlook, and for always being my go-to behind the scenes.

Meanwhile, Peggy made herself right at home… although I’m not sure Artie was planning on letting her leave 🐷😂

Main takeaway?
Markets will always move.
The strategy shouldn’t.

Today I hit a milestone. I ran the furthest I have ever run - 10.32km

These are the things that helped motivate me to do my best ever run today:

1. A hearty breakfast (two pieces of vegemite toast, and a sugar free redbull)
2. Boss Lady ran 10km yesterday, so I couldn't let her beat me
3. That's it 😂

Most people think investing is about timing the market…
But it’s not.

It’s about starting the snowball.

At the top of the mountain, it feels slow.
Small contributions. Not much movement.
Sometimes it even feels like nothing is happening.

But what you don’t see… is momentum building.

As that snowball rolls, it picks up more —
More returns.
More income.
More opportunities.

Your dollars start earning returns…
And then those returns start earning their own returns.

That’s compounding.

Over time, what started as something small and almost insignificant…
Becomes powerful. Hard to stop. Almost unstoppable.

The biggest mistake?
Never starting the push.

Because once the snowball is rolling —
