Spring = grass seeds
- Their sharp, barbed tips allow them to move forwards, not backwards.
- Grass seeds can burrow into dogs’ ears, eyes, between their paws, up their nose or under the skin.
- They can cause painful infections and may require surgery to remove.
- One RSPCA pet insurance grass seed claim was more than $8,100!
- Check your dog’s paws, ears and coat after a walk 🐾🐾
- Don’t ignore sudden changes in behaviour such as limping, licking a paw or shaking their head.
- Quick removal can prevent a much bigger problem if the grass seed continues to burrow and migrate
