Do you work with clients who are navigating Centrelink, payments, debts or Centrelink decisions?

This is a great opportunity to upskill, ask questions and build your knowledge about welfare rights and the Centrelink issues impacting your clients.

Great Southern Community Legal Service and the WA Welfare Rights and Advocacy Service are hosting a 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐑𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 with welfare rights lawyers who can provide information and answer your questions.

Today marks the final day of Scams Awareness Week but staying scam-safe is something we can all keep talking about. 💬

This year’s theme is “𝐍𝐨 𝐨𝐧𝐞’𝐬 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚 𝐧𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫".

Behind every scam report is a real person— a parent, friend, neighbour, colleague, grandparent or community member — whose money, time or trust has been stolen.

💰 Scams can happen to 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞.
🧠 Being targeted by a scammer is 𝐍𝐎𝐓 a reflection of your intelligence or character
🤝 If it happens to you, you are not alone and there is no shame in asking for help.

Scammers are becoming increasingly sophisticated, and sometimes all it takes is one convincing message, phone call or email to catch someone off guard.

Before sending money or sharing personal information:
⏸️STOP — don’t rush into a decision.
🔎CHECK — make sure the request is genuine.

And remember: speaking up about scams helps protect others too.

If you think you’ve been scammed, don’t be embarrassed or afraid to reach out for help. The sooner you act, the better.

💰𝐏𝐚𝐲𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠!

From 1 July 2026, employers will be required to pay superannuation at the same time as an employee’s wages, rather than paying it quarterly.

For workers, this means it should be easier to keep track of super payments and see that the super you’re entitled to is actually being paid by your employer. It may also help people notice missing or late payments sooner.

Claims are now open for the third round of the WA Student Assistance Payment.

Eligible WA families can claim:
✏️$150 for each kindy and primary student
✏️$250 for each secondary student

To help with school-related costs like uniforms, stationery, excursions and more. 📚👟🙌

👩🏽‍👦🏽On 23 June 2026, our team members Stephanie and Hannah were pleased to attend the 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐣𝐚𝐫𝐢 𝐘𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚 event, hosted by the Wheatbelt Aboriginal Health Service at the Narrogin Regional Leisure Centre🤰🏾.

𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐣𝐚𝐫𝐢 𝐘𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚 was a wonderful celebration of new life, bringing together First Nations families with children aged 0–5 years. The event showcased the many support services available within our community while providing a fun, welcoming space filled with activities for children and their families.

It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with local families, network with other community organisations, and share information about the free, independent financial counselling services available through Narrogin Financial Counselling Service.

A big thank you to the Wheatbelt Aboriginal Health Service for hosting such a meaningful and well-supported community event and to the Narrogin Regional Leisure Centre for providing their facilities. We look forward to continuing to work together to support local families.

Eligible Western Australian driver's licence holders can now apply for a 𝐨𝐧𝐞-𝐨𝐟𝐟 $𝟏𝟎𝟎 𝐅𝐮𝐞𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐏𝐚𝐲𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 to help with fuel costs. 💵

If you have a valid WA driver's licence—including learner, provisional (P-plate) or extraordinary licences—you will be eligible to claim this payment.

📱 The quickest and easiest way to apply is through the ServiceWA app using your Digital ID.

If you're experiencing financial pressure, every bit of support can make a difference. 💙

The Fuel Support Payment offer is now open to claim!

If you hold a valid Western Australian driver’s licence, you can claim a one-off $100 Fuel Support Payment.

This includes learner, provisional (P-platers) and extraordinary licences.

It celebrates the Elders, activists, artists, leaders and communities who have shaped our nation's history and continue to inspire future generations.

At Narrogin Financial Counselling Service, we are committed to providing inclusive, culturally safe financial counselling and acknowledge the importance of listening, learning and walking alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
