This month’s RBA meeting has revealed that the interest rate will hold steady at 4.10% this month.

Definitely not what we were all hoping for.

With Tuesday’s Reserve Bank decision to lower the official cash rate by 25 basis points, most lenders have now advised they will be passing on the full rate cut to consumers.

However - DO NOT assume this will automatically result in a reduction of your home loan repayments!! A few lenders are saying they will not automatically lower repayments, thus keeping your payment at the same level.

The advantage to this is that you will save money on the life of your loan by paying more off the principal balance of the mortgage.

If you do, however, wish for your home loan repayment to go down - give your lender a call to advise them this is what you want 😊

For the first time since November 2020, and after 13 hikes, the Reserve Bank has lowered the cash rate by 25 basis points…from 4.35% to 4.10%.

Some lenders have already announced they will pass on the full rate cut to consumers, with the rest expected to follow shortly.

The results of the banking royal commission have not been favourable for mortgage brokers!! If you wish to still be able to use a broker for your finance, please take the time to sign the following petition:

I write to you as a mortgage broking customer to ask you not to force me to pay a fee of thousands of dollars every time I access my broker. I also ask you not to cut my access to an affordable home loan by handing power back to the big banks and killing competition in the home lending market.
