Here’s a quick example:
• You’re buying a property worth $500,000.
• You have a $100,000 deposit.
• Your loan amount is $400,000.
LVR = (Loan Amount ÷ Property Value) x 100
In this case: ($400,000 ÷ $500,000) x 100 = 80%

🔑 Why it matters:
• A lower LVR (like 80% or less) can mean better loan options and lower costs.
• A higher LVR (above 80%) may require Lender’s Mortgage Insurance (LMI).

💥 RBA hikes cash rate to 4.35% — what this means for you

The Reserve Bank of Australia has increased the official cash rate by 0.25%, moving it from 4.10% to 4.35%.
For a borrower with a $500,000 home loan, a 0.25% increase could add approximately $80 per month to repayments, depending on the loan term, interest rate and repayment type.
