💜 World Elder Abuse Awareness Day | 15 June 💜
Elder abuse can take many forms, including financial, emotional, physical, social, and psychological abuse. Sadly, it often occurs at the hands of someone the older person knows and trusts.
This World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, we encourage everyone to take a moment to learn the signs, start conversations, and help protect the rights, dignity, and independence of older Australians.
Financial abuse remains one of the most common and underreported forms of elder abuse. Understanding powers of attorney, maintaining financial transparency, and seeking professional advice can help safeguard vulnerable family members.
Every older person deserves to feel safe, respected, and in control of their own life and decisions.
Together, we can help create a community where older Australians are valued, heard, and protected.
