Bought an investment property? It’s time to find a quality tenant & lease your property. But how?

You have the option of hiring a property manager to look after the property or manage it yourself.

If you are considering managing your own property, there are a few things you should be aware of:

UNDERSTAND THE LAW - The rights of tenants & landlords are protected by your state’s Residential Tenancies Act & you must understand them prior to leasing your investment property.

PREPARE THE PAPERWORK - You’ll need a lease, a bond payment (as security for rent owed/damage incurred) & a condition report taking note of the property's condition before the tenant moves in. It can serve as evidence if the tenant damages the property.

SET RENT. LIST PROPERTY - To understand how much rent you could charge, ask the team for a suburb report & find out what the going rate is.
