Please allow me to introduce myself,
I am Ali Hodgson (23yo), born & raised in the Western Districts of Vic, where my family farmed 3000acres of cropping, prime lambs and an Australian White sheep stud.
After finishing school in 2015, I went jillarooing on Bulgunnia Station (near Coober Pedy) for Jumbuck Pastoral Company. The 700,000acre property ran 30,000 merinos. After 18 months, I had expanded my animal husbandry skills as well as general farm skills.
Following that, I came down to Tintinara and worked as a Pen Rider/Livestock Hand for Thomas Foods at their Iranda Beef feedlot for 3 years. At 20,000 head capacity, I soon developed an extensive knowledge of cattle health, treatment and handling protocols. I also attended an “Animal Behaviour & Low Stress Stock Handling School” with Boyd Holden.
When I’m not working, I compete regularly in camp drafting, and previously in eventing and pony club. Horses have been a major part of my whole life, both personally and working.
I am now based at Mount Torrens. So what can I offer you?
* Casual labour for all sheep, beef cattle and equine tasks
* Feeding, mustering, drafting, weaning, weighing
* General health management (drenching, marking etc)
* Feeding, rugging & all facets of horse care
I also have my articulated loader and telehandler licenses, as well as extensive experience with 60-400hp tractors, articulated dump truck, excavators and skid steers.
So, if you need an extra pair of hands with your animals, please feel free to call me. Happy to travel anywhere, anytime.
Cheers,
Ali
