Progress has been fantastic over the past few weeks down at the Big Carnabys sculpture If you've been following us or been past the site, you'll notice that the branch structure framework is complete - welded together and painted to prevent rusting. Huge thanks to Ed Tonkin and team at Straightline Welding for the branch work (and incredible patience with the delays). Additional thanks to John Brassington and team and Greg at Crane-it Moora for your help - invaluable and generous local teamwork πŸ’ͺ

Next stage is for the artisans from Natureworks Australia to come over mid September to sculpt the branch structure with concrete and paint it. And mount the beautiful cockys in their final roosting spot. We can't wait :) We have to mention the generosity of CBH who have helped us out of a financial pickle by allowing the artisan team to stay at the Barracks for free. Luke - you're a legend πŸ‘πŸ‘

In the meantime - another slight hiccup is being sorted out by more generous Moora locals coming and helping the project. We had created a bit of a trip hazard with the footings and needed to rectify to prevent any potential falls. Enter Greg Wright who has generously donated 25t of sand and the Komic guys who transported it. This will be levelled around the footings to create a ramp. We do need to turf this sand so anyone would like to donate a bit of Kikuyu turf - PLEASE :)
We do hope everyone is looking forward to the BIG unveiling on the 11th October - the team here at Kerkhoff Carnaby Group, Moore Catchment Council Moora Community Resource Centre & Visitors Centre and Shire of Moora are working on it every day bringing it together.πŸ₯³πŸ₯³ Stayed tuned for more information.....
