Banking locally makes big things possible.

Together with Community Banks in our district, we’ve supported the purchase of a Hose Testing Trailer for CFA District 9 - helping 43 brigades across Baw Baw, Strzelecki and South Gippsland.

Directors Marg Thomas and Brian McDermott (also a Mirboo North CFA member) attended the official handover in Warragul.

This trailer means hose testing can be done in one day instead of 2–3 weeks. A huge win for volunteer time, safety and efficiency.

The 1st Mirboo North Scout Group's recently held their Annual Reports and Awards Presentation.

Volunteer Director Marg Thomas was delighted to attend and meet the youth members, who shared their thanks to Community Bank Mirboo North & District for the annual funds that support their 🌳 ‘Growing Happiness’ Garden’ - made possible through the Recovery Grants Program.

This vibrant garden not only gives the Scouts a hands on project to nurture, but it also beautifies the entrance to Mirboo North, creating a welcoming space for locals and visitors alike.

We have always had a passion for helping local youth to pursue their dream of tertiary education, something which can be extra challenging for rural areas. We have supported the Mirboo North & District Community Foundation's Education Support Fund since its inception and in 2018, we established a perpetual fund through a $160,000 donation, thus securing this program into the future.
Our sponsorship for 2027 will support 2 local school leavers attending Uni. for the first time, with the students receiving $6,000 each.

Applications are now open for the 2027 Education Support Awards, and this year we’re pleased to once again have the support of Community Bank Mirboo North & District .

The Community Bank has supported the program since 2022, committing $93,000 to Education Support Awards for local students.
This year, their $6,000 award will be provided in full in the first year of study, rather than being spread across two years — helping with those significant upfront costs that can come with starting university, TAFE or other tertiary education.

Since 2013, more than $300,000 has been awarded to more than 125 local students through the Education Support Program.
And remember, these awards aren't just for Year 12 students.
Applications are open to eligible students of all ages commencing tertiary study in 2027.
Applications close 22 November 2026.
