Altona Repair Cafe is on TOMORROW Saturday 11th April at Louis Joel Arts & Community Centre. Hobsons Bay Community Fund is happy to support this great community initiative

Got something that needs fixing? Bring it along and their skilled volunteer repairers will do their best to give it a new life!

They have repair spots available for: electrical & appliances, general handywork, mechanical, basic bike repairs and sewing/mending of clothing, textiles and soft toys.

You’re invited to join us at the 2026 Hobsons Bay Community Fund Business Lunch.

Join us at the beautiful Williamstown Town Hall on Friday, 19 June 2026, as we celebrate 10 years of bringing businesses, philanthropists and the community together.

This much-loved local event is a chance to connect, enjoy a great afternoon, and be part of something that makes a real difference in Hobsons Bay.

Every ticket sold helps fund grants to local community organisations — supporting projects that strengthen and connect our community.

Enjoy a delicious meal by Sebastian, dessert by d’Asporto, beer by Hop Nation and wine by Barking Frog.

You’ll also have the chance to bid on items from some of Hobsons Bay’s best local businesses and hear from guest speaker Alex Keath, sharing his journey from professional sport to philanthropy.

🥬 Grants in Action — From garden to table in Altona

Fresh produce, shared meals and a welcoming place to connect — Hobsons Bay Community Fund is proud to help make this possible.

In 2025, with support from the Community Fund, Louis Joel Arts & Community delivered a weekly Community Lunch program that brought people together over good food and conversation.

🍽️ 32 weekly lunches
🍲 Around 800 meals served
👥 A space for connection, dignity and community

Using produce grown right in the Centre’s edible garden — leafy greens, broccolini and herbs — meals were transformed into vibrant, nourishing dishes inspired by global flavours.

But it was about more than food.

For many local residents experiencing food insecurity, these lunches became a place to connect, build friendships and feel part of a community.

The Hobsons Bay Community Fund is offering $1,000–$10,000 grants for initiatives that strengthen our local community.

Community groups and organisations across Hobsons Bay are encouraged to apply if they have an idea that will make a difference locally.
