Too sweet not to miss..
But I did miss the kiss!
BTS: I saw them while I was walking past in Kensington this morning after doing a photo shoot for the on behalf of . They were picture perfect in that frame and I wondered my .. Lingered around a few more seconds.. Until I gave in to the urge that I should give them experience of seeing what they as a couple are presenting to those outside the frame looking in. A picture of cuteness, a look of love, a tight grasp of hands that seem to say they don't want to let go of each other for the uncertainty ahead. I have already missed capturing the moment when he kissed her cheek.. But no gesture of request from me to replay those moments would/cloud bring back those true intangible transactions of give & takes. I soon understood, from their undeterred fixation of gaze on each other that is best to leave them undisturbed. So, I silently stood at a distance and took my next 3 shots. But before I walked away.. I felt my other set of and thoughts buzz through in my mind...and decided to just leave my business card on her desk.. Just in case!
It all makes sense if you see that last image in this post (a text message from her thanking for capturing those special moments as that's the they shared before her bf left overseas for work... now deleted upon her request.)

Well.. I tell myself every time, that maybe I can upload my next post when there's an special occasion to connect my audience with.. That's in spite of being known for celebrating everyday life in its micro moments. But, all I required this time, was not the Chinese New Year.. But a simple passing question by my good and reliable friend ().. How come you haven't posted anything recently on your instagram... As simple as that!! If you come to sense that next time.. Won't you also please poke and pester me? Most of you who are in my life, know by now, how I often start new personal, non-obligatory projects with much enthusiasm...only to be consistent at not being consistent. A little bit of friendly self-imposed accountability might help me better serve you in this creative journey I officially took in recent times.
Here's the story:
I was tasked by my friends at local newspapers (tagged) to go around the neighbourhoods of Kensington/North Melbourne/West Melbourne and take some shots of what they said I'm usually good with.. People, Connections and Stories. So.. While cycling in this new neighbourhood.. scooting out for people who are interesting or interested.. I came across these elderly gentlemen having their daily dose of coffee chatting away.. I approached them and said my hellos before asking if they'd be okay with me taking few shots for the local newspapers..without hesitation they negated to that idea.. When politely probed for reason, they agreed that they feel shy and don't want to be known around.. But given the distinctness of their pace in walks or mobility, I was sure they're known around already. 😉 While still chatting with them a lady who is an assistant on the bakehouse shop came up to ask why I'm going around with a camera and before I could explain... She asked if I can take a photo of her boss who got dressed up for the Chinese New Year (they're Vietnamese.. But most of the South East Asian countries celebrate CNY as if they're Chinese.. But they call it a Lunar Year maybe to feel more accommodating).. I gladly agreed..But she Cross checked me twice that I'll give those photos for free before she asked her boss. TBC.. 👇
