Did you know? 📚🏡
The Glen Eira Historical Society holds the largest and most comprehensive collection of material relating to the history of the Glen Eira area - right here in our local community.

As proud sponsors of the Society, Community Bank Murrumbeena is excited to help shine a light on the incredible resources they preserve, including:
📸 Historic house, family, school and sporting photographs
🗺️ Maps dating back to 1853
📰 Local newspapers from 1920 to today
📖 Rare books and local histories
🏆 Artefacts like sporting trophies, WWI memorial pieces and more
🎧 Oral histories recorded from 1976 onwards

This collection is a valuable resource for family historians, students, researchers, and anyone curious about the stories that shaped our neighbourhood.

💛 You can also help preserve local history by donating items connected to the area -from photos and letters to memorabilia and ephemera.

Let’s keep Glen Eira’s story alive for generations to come.

💚 Community Bank Malvern East, Community Bank Murrumbeena and Community Bank Wantirna are proud to support MAD Foundation and the incredible difference they make for families facing significant hardship.

Thanks to this support, children like Paolo can access vital equipment that can make everyday life safer, easier and more connected.

After a long hospital stay with complex medical needs, Paolo received a specialist stroller through MAD Foundation - giving him the opportunity to safely explore beyond the hospital ward for the very first time and create treasured moments with his family.

Stories like Paolo’s are a powerful reminder of the impact community support can have when it reaches families at the moments they need it most.

Since 2001, MAD Foundation has supported more than 400 families with over $2.7 million in funding for essential equipment, therapy and services - all made possible through the generosity of supporters and the dedication of volunteers.

We’re proud to support the meaningful and compassionate work they do in our community 💚

Funding Opportunity for Local Community Food Relief Organisations

Community groups delivering food relief services now have the opportunity to apply for funding through the Community Food Security - Local Grants Program.

Funding can assist with initiatives such as:
• Food parcels and grocery programs
• Community meals
• Fuel vouchers and transport assistance
• Other activities that help ensure people in need can access essential food support

This program recognises the important role local volunteers and community organisations play in supporting vulnerable members of our community.

Applications close on 9 July 2026.

Community Bank Murrumbeena is proud to support the Carnegie Lions Club, a dedicated group of volunteers making a real difference across local, national and international communities.

The club is involved in a wide range of service and fundraising activities, supporting important causes both close to home and further afield.

One of their special areas of focus is Lions Hearing Dogs - an incredible program where specially trained dogs help people with no or limited hearing live more independently. Lions also operate a training centre in South Australia to support this life-changing work.

The Lions Club of Carnegie meets twice a month, continuing to plan and deliver meaningful community initiatives:
📍 1st Tuesday - Business Meeting at Murrumbeena Park Bowls Club (7pm)
📍 3rd Tuesday - Dinner meeting at various locations

If you’d like to learn more or get involved, the club would love to hear from you.
