📢 RBA CASH RATE UPDATE | 29 SEPTEMBER 2026
The Reserve Bank of Australia has today increased the cash rate by 0.25% (25 basis points), taking it to 4.60%. 📈
The RBA highlighted several factors contributing to today’s decision:
🔹 Inflation remains elevated, with recent Australian inflation data stronger than expected.
🔹 Rising global energy prices are adding further inflationary pressure.
🔹 Strong AI-related demand is contributing to higher global prices for technology-related goods.
🔹 Australian businesses continue to experience cost pressures, with many increasing—or considering increasing—their prices.
🔹 Short-term inflation expectations remain elevated.
