Today we’re launching an appeal to raise emergency funds for our fellow Gippslanders impacted by floods. We act fast to distribute funds to those needing help, so they can access emergency resources like food or temporary accommodation.

GERF only accepts financial donations, being the quickest and most effective way to lend a helping hand. While we love seeing your generosity, we’re not equipped to accept goods or services — for this check out www.givit.org.au

We’re so blown away by the generosity of Gippslanders helping those in need. Those we help are so grateful for their community’s support as well. We thought we’d share one of the thank you messages we received recently from a Sarsfield family.

This is the post that counts towards the rebuild of our East Gippsland community.

The 2020 Summer Bushfires were truly devastating. As we stay home and flatten the curve, we may not be able to do much physically to assist in the rebuild right now but we can do something with the tap of our fingers.

Together with Gippsland Emergency Relief Fund (GERF), we’re rallying our Gippslandia community and asking you to get behind the Meaningful Post project by purchasing one or two or more fence posts for the recovery and rebuild of the bushfire devastation in East Gippsland.

We’ve got semi-trailers ready to transport thousands of fence posts, so don’t sit on the fence for this one, this is a post that counts towards the rural rebuild of East Gippsland.

We’ve made it easy, head to the Gippslandia shop - https://bit.ly/ameaningfulpost and purchase a corner post for $9 or a fence post for $5.

What a night!

Thank you to everyone that came down on Saturday night for a fun and successful evening ☺️

It surpassed anything we could have imagined.

Seeing everyone get together and support the GERF was amazing and we can’t thank you for your support enough.

Counting the ticket sales, T-shirt sales, raffles, Koala competition, and auction sales on the night, you generous humans helped us raise over $4.5k for the GERF!

As we collect the ticket sales from the online vendor and final auction items we will update you with a final donation amount for the event ASAP.

A huge thank you to all the businesses and people that donated prizes, and a massive thanks to everyone at The Elwood Lounge that made this possible!

You can pop down anytime through February and support further at the bar until the end of feb. Where we will tally up the money, and make a donation on behalf of us all.

Consider yourself a bit of a trivia nut?

Want to contribute to a cause that assists Gippslanders impacted directly by the fires?

Or just want to have the chance to win some super cool prizes?

Well, we have the night out for you!

The Elwood Lounge is generously hosting a trivia night extravaganza on Saturday the 1st of February, with 100% of proceeds from ticket sales to be donated to the Gippsland Emergency Relief Fund (GERF) who provide immediate short-term funds directly to Gippslanders impacted by the bushfire.

Your $25 PP entry to the trivia comp gets you a shot of the notorious 'Soggy Moggy' on arrival and finger food throughout the night.

Your Quiz Master will take you and your table on a journey through multiple rounds of exciting trivia questions from general knowledge to music rounds, with a range of great prizes up for grabs!

For our non-trivia nuts, there will also be a variety of fun mini games throughout the night as well as live auctioning off of some generously donated items from the community. There will also be a jam session with local artists after the trivia madness wraps up.
