This week I had the pleasure of connecting with the Bankwest team and fellow industry colleagues, where Credit Quality Manager Craig Taylor, State Manager Kerri Siedofsky, and Senior Development Managers Gavin Little and David Burgan shared some really valuable insights around policies and niches. To wrap up the session, we put what we learnt into action through a fun ā€˜Deal or No Deal’ game over a very delicious lunch at Chianti.

Thank you to the Bankwest team for a very fun and informative session!

Last week I attended the Credit Union SA Women in Orange Economic Forum, with Brittany joining me, who is currently completing her certification in Finance.

With all the conversations following the recent RBA decision and Federal Budget, the timing of the event couldn’t have been better. Dr Susan Stone shared some really interesting insights into household spending, along with discussions around capital gains tax indexation and negative gearing.

A big thank you to Credit Union SA for organising such a fantastic event. Opportunities like these are incredibly valuable, not only for the economic insights shared, but also for the chance to connect with other women in finance, exchange ideas and continue learning from industry experts and peers.

Budget night is coming up, so what is the government proposing for the 2026-27 Australian Federal Budget? See šŸ‘‡

Many of the proposed housing-related changes appear aimed at reducing investor advantage and shifting conditions slightly in favour of owner-occupiers, particularly first home buyers.

Keep in mind, nothing is confirmed yet. All proposed changes would still need to pass through Parliament before becoming law and taking effect. We’ll be watching budget night closely to see what is announced.
