Australia’s official cash rate has fallen below 1.0 per cent for the first time in history with some economists saying it will stay down for at least another two years.

A Federal Court judge has found that people could stop eating wagyu beef and drinking shiraz and eat more modestly to meet their home loan payments.

RBA have announced another rate cut today and the cash rate now sits at 1%! Let's see what the lenders do in the coming days!

At its meeting today, the Board decided to lower the cash rate by 25 basis points to 1.00 per cent.

Westpac Group have announced drops in assessment rates! Assessment rates are floors lenders use to determine if borrowers can afford to repay their home loan should interest rates increase.

With the drop in assessment rate, this should provide some relief with the credit tightening that we have seen over the last 24 months. Expect other lenders to follow suit in the near future!
