Piggy had a great afternoon today learning to sew withMandurah Filipino-Australian Multicultural Community Incorporated at their community sewing group. He tried to take the credit for the finished tote bag 😂 You can purchase these tote bags and shopping bags at MFAMCI’s Saturday morning market every week at the Greenfields Community Centre every Saturday. 👜

We are doing a “warmth” collection this month in branch. If you would like to donate any new blankets, sleeping bags, gloves, beanies, warm clothes or anything else that can help keep a person warm, please drop it into the branch Monday to Friday 9:30-4pm. If you would like to donate but can’t make it to the branch during these times, please message and we will try to arrange a pick up. All donations will be passed on to WestAus Crisis & Welfare Service to distribute to those in need.

Did you know, today is National Dolphin Day and to help protect our beautiful Mandurah dolphins we are raising funds and awareness in branch for Estuary Guardians Mandurah all this month. Come in to the branch and have a look at our display and if you can, please give a donation. We are also selling the amazing 3D printed dolphin fidgets donated by Peel Community Mens Shed. All proceeds go to the Estuary Guardians.

What an amazing day we had last Thursday!!
We had the privilage of being the Coast Live 97 days of Summer major prize sponsor this year. The promotion has been running for 3 months with 20 finalists finally getting a code to the awesome safe made by our friend, John, at Peel Community Men's Shed. Bright and early Thursday morning, the 20 finalists and their families gathered outside Community Bank Halls Head in the hopes that they would be the one to open the safe. Unbelieveably, it went right to the wire with finalist number 20 being the one with the correct code. Keep in mind that these codes were picked randomly by the finalists themselves so this truly was amazing. Congratulations to our winner Demi, we hope the $20,000 prize money helps to make some of your dreams come true.
Thank you to everyone who worked tirelessly alongside us to make this promtion happen and be so successful and thank you all to of the finalists who came along and so graciously accepted when they were not the winner. What an awesome thing to be part of 💰🎉

On Saturday 14 February, Peel Multicultural Association Inc held their annual Chinese New Year celebration in Mandjar Square. Piggy had a great time meeting the people who attended and handing out drink bottles to the children. The celebration was a vibrant festival of culture, sound and colour with dance performers and the much loved Chinese Lion Dance. Another awesome event help by PMA that we loved being a part of.

Next week is your last chance to buy handmade greeting cards in branch and support Carolia Charity. Carolia Charity are a local Mandurah based charity that raises funds to support children in Bali to get a proper education in he goal to break the generational poverty that many families in Bali experience. By assisting to provide an education for these children, their futures and the futures of their families look much brighter.
Cards are $3.50 each or 3 for $10 and there are several different designs for a variety of occassions.

In branch this week, our tellers have been giving customers little felt hearts provided by the Heartists, a local group of talented women who make hearts to give away as part of the 1000 hearts project. We were giving them out this week as part of Random Acts of Kindness Day. A random act of kindness can seem small to those giving it but can make a huge difference to the life of someone receiving it. Let's always be kind, it really does make the world a better place to be.
