She is a such a beautiful soul with a talent behind the camera, capturing moments & memories.

I absolutely loved helping Tiarni out with setting up her Xero file & running through the basics for how to use the software going forward. No more Excel spreadsheets needed!

Coffee catchups combined with some Xero magic & deep chats about biz life are definitely my favourite part of this gig. And clients like Tiarni make it even more special🫶🏻

Nailing down the definition of bookkeeping can be a tricky process - because it can look a little bit different for every business.

And while the HOW may be different, the WHY is the same.

Bookkeeping simply is the process of recording & tracking a business's financial transactions.

But why?

As a business owner, it is your responsibility to ensure accurate records are maintained. Good records help you to minimise losses, manage cash, meet any legal, regulatory and taxation authority requirements and improve financial analytics (aka. have good data to make good decisions).

If you own a business, it's a non-negotiable🤷🏼‍♀️

The HOW part is up to you - I’d recommend getting set up on an accounting software (like Xero), then either invest in bookkeeping training to DIY your books yourself OR outsource to an experienced bookkeeper to either guide you or to stay on top of it for you.

When you decide you want to DIY your bookkeeping, you're probably super excited to:

✨ Save money by DIY-ing
✨ Keep your books up to date
✨ Feel confident handing your books off to your tax accountant

But in my experience, DIY-ing can often end up with you:

✖️ Missing out on tax deductions
✖️ Doing things the hard way
✖️ Losing tons of your valuable time
✖️ Being stressed out and in WAY over your head

If doing your own bookkeeping is working for you, that's great! 🙌🏻 But there's no shame if you're starting to regret that decision. I'm here to help🙋🏼‍♀️

🤔 Do you find yourself searching aimlessly on Google hoping to solve all your burning bookkeeping questions?

Google is a great source of information, however the amount that's out there can be totally overwhelming🤯 let alone applying this knowledge to your business correctly.
