It’s been a week… we have officially said goodbye to Winbeat. The system we’ve been using for most of our careers to do this job that we love. It’s bitter sweet saying goodbye to this dinosaur, but it’s time to move forward to a system that’s capable of utilising the technology of today.

I’m so grateful for my team for taking on this challenge and learning an entirely new way of working. And to our clients, thank you for sticking with us while we get everything moved over and learn the new ropes.

We’re excited about the opportunities and efficiencies that these changes will bring for all of us. See you on Monday!

This shouldn't be a point of difference, but when we compare our experiences working for other insurance brokerages - it is.

Most of us have worked in environments where you could take annual leave or sick leave or stay home with the kids on school holidays, but it meant working twice as hard to get through the emails and phone messages and tasks that weren't actioned while you were gone.

That's not something that we do here.

Our staff are able to take their leave entitlements, and the work gets done while they're gone.

Crazy? It shouldn't be.

But it is.

And our clients notice the difference because when they call, they get answers and action regardless of who they're talking to.

We love it when a claim gets resolved! 🥳

Claims can stall for a number of reasons, on this claim we had issues with the builder and the insurer claims handler. We tried to escalate it with their team leader first, but when this didn’t work we ended up making a compliant.

This allowed us to get a different claims handler appointed on the claim who was really proactive about seeing the claim through to a resolution.

The complaints process is there for a reason, we don’t use it unless we have to, but in this instance it was the right move to get the client their full policy entitlements after some extensive and unnecessary delays.

If you’d like someone in your corner who knows what moves to make and when to make them - you’ve found us! And the great news is our clients don’t pay anything extra to have our support and advocacy through the claims process either 💪🏻

Story time... back in August 2023 our page was hijacked in the most spectacular way imaginable.

Someone purchased an old domain name for a previous business of mine, in order to recreate an old email address so they could 'recover' the password on my personal email account, in order to 'recover' the password on my personal page, in order to access our Facebook Business profile... all so that they could run a few hundred dollars worth of scammy ads which I got back from the fraud department at my bank.

Honestly... I have to acknowledge the commitment there.

But it was truly devastating to lose my old Facebook profile with all the memories and comments written over the years, especially things that I'd written about my babies that should have really gone in a baby book... so many lessons learnt including the lesson to put Dual Factor Authentication on EVERYTHING!!!

The other problem was that I had to start a new Facebook Business profile from scratch, losing all our followers and all our lovely reviews.

Fast forward to now... I've managed to do the same thing to myself and accidentally deleted our Google Business Profile. So we disappeared off Google for a week, and all our old Google reviews disappeared too never to be seen again.

Thankfully we have some beautiful clients who have answered the call and already helped us out, but if you have ever worked with us and would like to leave a review either here on Facebook or over on Google - we'd really appreciate it!

Some would cry... all I could do was laugh, and think of the social media content I could make out of my mistake 😂

Did you know the supports over 1,300 people in our region every single month?

Their aim is to provide a safety-net for members of the community by delivering a range of services including a free food bank, emergency relief service (clothing and household items, etc.), a drop-in centre and soup kitchen.

I love that they offer this to local community members with dignity and choice, in a space that feels like home.

Did you know that they purchase almost all of the food that they give away? And right now their services are needed more than ever.

In past years we've made one off contributions, but this year we're committing to a monthly donation of $300 with plans to increase this to a total donation of $5,000 by June 30 next year.

Because in a town as wonderful as ours, no one deserves to go hungry or without.
