Simple.
We simply didn't go to the snow for over 10 years.
The last time we went up to the Victorian Alps, Jona didn't exist, and Levi had just started primary school, and Ayla was still in child care.
It cost us $795.92 + $3.79 in card surcharges at ALDI over the weekend, for:
5 x snow tops and bottoms
2 x snow shoes (Michele and I still have ours from > 10 years ago, and Jona could fit into Levi's, amazingly!!)
A few thermal underwear and scarves.
If you spend the same amount when the kids are still growing, you'd be buying them every 2-3 years.
Or over $2,400 in over 9-10 years.
Which is an unnecessarily large amount of money to spend, for only one or two trips, annually.
We simply said "No" to the kids, knowing money we didn't have isn't spent.
And money that we may have, is going elsewhere more productive.
How much are you spending on snow gear this year? π₯Ά
