As the weather cools, we are so grateful to those who have donated items to keep our friends warm.

Thank you to Riverlife Baptist church who donated homemade ponchos, they were so greatly appreciated. We were also blessed to have one of our volunteers donate winter clothes. Many people took beanies, scarves and warm clothes to help keep the heat in.

We were unable to pick up bread this week, however we had some delicious goodies our volunteers brought to hand out.

Our delicious soup returned last night as well, in time for the cool change we've had. As the nights in Ipswich get colder, we are so grateful for the love and care that goes into creating hot, nutritious meals for our friends in Ipswich.

It truly takes many Helping Hands to keep this little van on the road. Thank you to all who support our work.

If you would like to donate, our Go FundMe is still up and running. Please click on the link below.

We are so thankful to our community who care for our friends in Ipswich. It's amazing how great the need is. We had someone very generously donate a tent to us yesterday afternoon, and it was given to someone who needed it only three hours later. We are humbled by the kindness of others and the way God provides for the needs of those who come to our little van.

As the weather cools, we know the need for tents, sleeping bags, beanies and scarves will grow. If you would like to donate any of these items, please reach out to us at [email protected]

We have also seen numbers increasing with 75 people accessing our service last week.

Some simple ideas to donate and support our work are:

💛Organising a donation drive at your workplace, church, school or business for non perishable items
💛Purchasing a few extra items at your next shop to donate
💛Donating via our GoFund Me appeal at https://gofund.me/d810aca8c

We always need
💛 Tinned baked beans, spaghetti, tuna, stews
💛 Pasta
💛 Pasta sauces
💛 Two minute noodles
💛 Toiletries including toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, deodorant, women's sanitary items, shampoo and conditioner.

We are so incredibly grateful to all who give of their time, talent and resources to ensure we can love our friends well.🙏

Thank you from all of us at Helping Hands Van.

We are very thankful to Local Ipswich News who featured our Little Yellow Van last week. Thank you from all of us.

Each week we see the need in our community grow. There are many people who are finding the increasing cost of living very difficult. We had four people tell us recently that they hadn't eaten for 48 hours. We continue seeing record numbers of people show up each Tuesday night. The bite to eat and grocery packs we hand out really do make a difference. Not only that but people feel seen, heard and loved.

The sandwiches, hot soup or hotdogs, hot drinks, grocery packs, non perishable items, women's sanitary items, toiletries and more are always gratefully received.

We are supported entirely by the generosity of our community and are so thankful to all who contribute in any way. It's truly such a blessing that this van has been running since 2009 by the kindness of many and the grace of God.

If you would like to financially support the work we do, our Go Fund Me campaign is still on. Every little bit helps. Thank you so much to everyone who has already donated. Your gift will help our friends in Ipswich.

If you would like to donate non-perishable items, or support us in other ways please email us at [email protected]

Thank you to our amazing community and all our wonderful volunteers who do so much to keep the Little Yellow Van on the road.

If you're not already following our page, we'd love you to join our little community here 💛. That way you'll never miss an update on the Little Yellow Van. Thank you so much for your support.

6.50pm 26 The Terrace, North Ipswich opposite the Ipswich Jets training ground (North Ipswich Reserve)

One of our wonderful volunteers put this together for us. Did you know Helping Hands Van provides 500 meals a month to almost 250 friends in Ipswich? That's a lot of meals (and friends).

Thankfully, our wonderful community supports us in doing this work. The need continues to increase as the cost of living rises. We are so grateful to all those who donate their time, non perishable items and money to the work we do.

What started back in 2009 with two friends and a cooler box of sandwiches has grown into a beautiful (albeit little) organisation, stewarded by individuals who want to love like Jesus.

If you feel led to support Helping Hands Van in any way, we're always incredibly grateful for not only your kindness but your trust in us to steward your gift well.

Helpful donations include non perishables like, tinned baked beans, spaghetti or pre made meals (stew etc), pasta, tins of tuna, snacks, two minute noodles etc. In the coming months as the weather cools we'll be in the need of blankets, sleeping bags and other items to keep people warm. We are currently unable to accept clothing, however please reach out if you have winter jackets you'd like to donate as these are very much appreciated. While it might not seem like it now, Ipswich can definitely get cold in winter. We're already preparing well in advance for the temperatures to drop.

Thank you to all our volunteers and supporters who make walking with our friends in Ipswich each week possible. We simply couldn't do it without you.

Please email us at [email protected] if you'd like to get involved.

Did you know we have a new stop? In case you missed it, our Little Yellow Van will continue to stop at 26 The Terrace North Ipswich, opposite the Ipswich Jets training ground at 6.50 pm on Tuesday nights.

We've seen quite a few people turn up and it's been lovely making new friends. This post is to help get the word out so more people know we'll be there next week and will continue showing up each Tuesday night.

If you know of anyone who might need some non perishables, a bite to eat and a chat with some friendly people, please share this post. We'd love to see more people turn up in the coming weeks. We know the need is great.

The location is also very well lit, which we love :)

Now to sum up, all of you be like-minded, sympathetic, brotherly, tender-hearted, and humble in spirit; 1 Peter 3:8

We are so thankful for our volunteers who lovingly show up each and every week. They travel from far and wide to show kindness, practical love and to walk alongside our friends in Ipswich.

They do so quietly and simply because they desire to love like Jesus loves and show compassion to others, providing sandwiches, a cuppa and a chat. Providing items generously donated to us. Thank you to all who contribute in any way. We are so grateful for you.

The van will be out again this Tuesday night. Our wonderful volunteers will again bring their smiles, food to lighten the load and fill tummies, and pantry staples not taken for granted.

If you need a little extra or something to brighten your day, we look forward to welcoming you.

It's little thank you notes like this that help remind us that our small contribution leaves a big impact.

Thank you to our wonderful community for supporting this work. We couldn't do it without you.

If you would like to volunteer with us or donate your time, gifts or talents, please reach out to Rebecca at [email protected]

It's another beautiful Tuesday in Ipswich and we all know what that means...the little yellow van is heading out tonight.

The new stop at 26 The Terrace, North Ipswich has been very popular and we've met quite a few new friends. For those who missed the last post, we will be there around 6.50pm each week (including tonight).

Besides stopping at our new North Ipswich stop, we will continue to stop outside Denmark Guest House at 41 Waghorn Street at 6.30pm and at Milford Street around 7.20pm. We look forward to seeing you there.

As usual we will have lots of non perishables and sandwiches, plenty of cuppa's, kind words and many other good things we've been generously donated.

If you know of anyone who might need a few pantry items, a chat over a coffee or milo and a whole lot of kindness, please let them know about us. Everyone is welcome.

Donations of non perishables, time, talent and finances are always gratefully received.💛

We have a new stop!! 🌭☕️🍞 This is to help reach people on the other side of the Bremer River where we believe we will meet many new friends.

After stopping at Roderick street (outside Carrington Guest House) for many years, as of next Tuesday (3rd of February), we will no longer be stopping here. Our beautiful friends who still meet us here are very welcome to meet us around the corner and up the hill at 41 Waghorn street (outside Denmark Guest House) at 6.30pm. We would love to see you there.

The new stop is located at 26 The Terrace, North Ipswich opposite the Ipswich Jets training ground (North Ipswich Reserve) We will be there from around 6.50pm.

We will continue to attend stop 3 at Milford Street and will be there a bit later, closer to 7.20pm.

Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to seeing you next Tuesday and making some new friends.

Thank you also to our wonderful community of supporters and volunteers who make each Tuesday night possible.

Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.
