The home & away season is officially done, and we wish all clubs across the Loddon Valley Football Netball League the very best heading into finals! 💪🏻

There’s just no denying how important footy and netball are to our communities. They keep us active, social and connected through the winter months and our towns simply wouldn’t be the same without them.

But what we see on the court and oval each weekend is only possible because of the incredible amount of time, effort and funding happening behind the scenes. Volunteers giving up countless hours. Sponsors backing their clubs. Umpires, coaches, committees and helpers all doing their bit to make our weekends happen.

To everyone who plays a part – THANK YOU. Local sport wouldn’t happen without you - and we’re incredibly proud to be part of the team. 🫶🏻✨

While plenty of our locals might use it as an excuse to get out on the course… there’s no denying the benefits of golf! ⛳️ Fresh air, exercise, connection... the list goes on.

A big thank you to our local golf clubs for the huge effort that’s gone into running tournaments across our district over the past month. So much of what happens behind the scenes is made possible by volunteers - and without you, these events just wouldn’t happen. 🤍

On behalf of our Board and team, we'd like to say a heartfelt thank you to George Wyatt and Carol Canfield, who have retired as Directors of Inglewood & Districts Community Enterprises this August. 🤍

Carol and George have both made a significant contribution to our Board – Carol over the past five years, and George as a founding Director, having been with us since our Community Bank first opened its doors in 2007. Throughout that time, both have generously volunteered their time, knowledge and experience to help guide our Community Bank and strengthen the communities we serve.

Throughout their years around the Board table, George and Carol have brought an incredible depth of experience from their respective fields, a strong commitment to the causes they care about and, most importantly, a genuine passion for their community. Their contribution has helped shape countless decisions and community investments – many of which will continue making a difference across our district for years to come.

George & Carol – thank you for everything you have contributed to our Community Bank and our wider community. Your contribution has been significant,& you will be greatly missed around the Board table. We wish you both all the very best for what comes next!🫶🏻✨

Meet Ava – one of our 2026 University Scholarship recipients 🎓✨

📚 Ava is in her first year of Physiotherapy at La Trobe University in Bendigo.

🫶 She's loving her course so far, with her favourite part being meeting like-minded people and discovering just how much physiotherapy can help people recover from injury and improve their quality of life.

🚗 The biggest challenge has been the travel, with around six hours in the car each week to get to and from uni!

✨ Looking ahead, Ava hopes to gain experience under experienced mentors in a hospital setting, ideally within the Bendigo or Loddon Shire community.

🫶 Thanks to the scholarship from Community Bank Inglewood & Districts, studying has become a much more achievable reality, helping to ease the financial pressure of travel, university fees and learning materials.
