Rheola Charity Carnival - 153 years strong

It was a pleasure for staff and board members to attend the 153rd Rheola Charity Carnival on Easter Monday. This annual event is a fantastic testament to the power of community, and it was wonderful to see so many people come out to support it. A big congratulations to the organising committee for putting on such a successful day. It's great to see so many local businesses supporting such an important community event. Community Bank Inglewood & Districts have been a major supporter for 10+ years with our commitment being instrumental to the carnival's success. The best part of all is that all funds raised go directly to the Inglewood and Dunolly hospitals, making a real difference in the local community.

Congratulation to Ava Maxted who is our 2nd recipient of our 2026 Tertiary Scholarships

Ava has been accepted into Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honors) at La Trobe University.

"I investigated a range of tertiary options and I felt that La Trobe University was the right fit for me due to their links to regional community. Ideally, I aim to return to a rural / regional centre like the Loddon Valley / Bendigo to improve health support and services for country people. At the moment my big dream is to establish my own Physiotherapy practice to support regional people, however I am keen to experience Hospital practice and also Sport / Work related rehabilitation physiotherapy to discover the area I have greatest passion for. I’ll have the opportunity to explore this further when I undertake 4th year Practical experience placements in Bendigo & surrounding community health services."

We are proud to support local students who want to further their studies.

Congratulations to Sienna Ward. One of two recipients of our 2026 Tertiary Scholarships.

Sienna has been accepted into a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science at Deakin University.

"My long-term goal is to become a qualified physiotherapist and work in regional communities to support people’s movement, recovery, and overall well-being. I am currently enrolled to study a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science at Deakin University in 2026, which provides a strong foundation in anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics, essential for postgraduate physiotherapy study. My passion for physiotherapy began after sustaining a netball injury that required rehabilitation. Experiencing the positive impact of skilled and compassionate care inspired me to help others achieve their physical health goals. Growing up in Inglewood, I’ve seen the challenges regional areas face in accessing quality healthcare."

Council is conducting an Aquatics Service Review, which will look at the five public swimming pools across the shire.

The aim is to better understand how these facilities are being used by the community, assess financial sustainability, and gather evidence to provide clear directions to guide the Council for future planning and investment.

We need the community to have their say - sharing your experiences, preferences, and expectations relating to local aquatic facilities and services to help us in our future planning.

To take the survey please visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/LoddonShireCouncilAquaticsServiceReviewSurvey

The survey will take about 5-10 minutes to complete, and all responses will remain confidential.

This survey will remain open until Friday, 27 March.

For over 20 years we have been supporting the Upper Loddon Cricket Association before we became Community Bank.

We congratulate both Boort and Bridgewater Cricket Club for making the Grand Final.

Boort won but Bridgewater put up a really good effort.
Boort all out for 142 off 27.3 overs.
Highest score 43 to Jake Oflaherty and Samuel McClelland not out for 24

Bridgewater's highest score was 13 to Connor Alexander.
Ned Wickham had an impressive bowling innings of 9.3 overs, 3 maidens, 17 runs and 6 wickets.
A "5 for" in any game is special but in a Grand final 6 wicket haul is amazing.

We congratulate the league on another successful season.
