Are you thinking of a carbon project on your place? Whether its an environmental plantings or soil carbon we have a few resources that might help you.

Go to https://holbrooklandcare.org.au/low-carbon-landscapes-upper-billabong/

There is:
- a map that shows if and where there is high priority areas on your farm for carbon and biodiversity projects,
- a link to a webinar we ran a few weeks ago that goes through some project basics.

Don't know where to start getting your head around it - Upper Billabong Low Carbon Landscapes is able to help with getting a baseline natural capital profile and some basic facts about carbon and biodiversity project potential.

Its largely a desktop process for us using public mapping information so does not take up much of your time and it does help tell the story of your farm and some reality to the natural capital market potential.

Contact [email protected] to start the process.

Proudly funded by the NSW Government through a Low Carbon Landscapes grant.

We need a new sentinel for Holbrook Landcare office has no place undercover. This is a great project to be involved in - helping scientists discover where the Bogong moths go when they leave the mountains

Are you curious about what bugs can be found in your local area? Are you interested in helping to protect the iconic Bogong Moth by better understanding its migratory habits? Then you might be a perfect candidate to host a Bug Lantern as a Bogong Watch Sentinel!

We will train people how to use our catch and release Bug Lanterns and record sightings. Preference will be given to people who can trap frequently (ideally nightly) in March, April and May 2027 within 250kms of Canberra.
Fill in the form below to express your interest in contributing to our Bogong Watch citizen science project by hosting a lantern!

HLN project staff have been flat out this month collecting soil samples and pasture measurements at our local trial sites. The pastures are booming and it's been a challenge getting around to the sites in time!

Join us for a Field Day at Henty on November 10 as we provide recent findings from our 3 Producer Demonstration Site projects, funded by Meat & Livestock Australia:
👉Tropical pastures
👉Serradella
👉 Topdressed lime in pastures

And learn from expert speakers Bob Freebairn and Dr Richard Hayes.

TOMORROW!!
Join the South East LLS Team at the Bookham Fertiliser Trial site for an afternoon exploring how pastures have responded to different nutrients applied across the trial plots.
This short field day will provide an opportunity for producers to see the results firsthand, compare pasture responses across the different treatments and discuss what the results could mean for practical nutrient management on farm.
Come along, walk through the trial plots and see the pasture response for yourself.

Date: 14th October
Time: 2pm-4pm
WHere: Meet on trial site on Whitefields Rd, Bookham. Follow red field day signs off Hume Highway.
No RSVP requried - just turn up!
