⭐️ A NEW CHAIR FOR COMMUNITY BANK HIGHETT⭐️

We’re pleased to share that Brad Price has been appointed volunteer Chairperson of Community Bank Highett.

Brad brings over 25 years’ experience in banking and finance, along with a genuine passion for community. In recent years, he’s also contributed in non-executive roles across the not-for-profit and profit-for-purpose sector, including community banking.

What makes community banking different, and something Brad deeply believes in, is the commitment to return profits back to the community that generates them.

Over the past 25 years, Community Bank Highett has returned more than $4 million to support local clubs, groups and initiatives. That impact is only possible because of the people and businesses who choose to bank locally and for volunteers like Brad that dedicate their time to making this happen.

This Volunteer Week, we’re celebrating the people who quietly make an extraordinary difference at BayCISS 💜

Graeme is behind the scenes every week, sorting and packing food donations across the kitchen, pantry and sheds, making sure everything runs smoothly for those who rely on it. Sandy is on the front line, supporting clients with genuine care, compassion and understanding in moments that matter most.

Together with the incredible BayCISS clinicians, they are part of something bigger, a network of support that helps people through some of life’s toughest times.

The Highett Community Bank has now returned more than $4 million to local clubs, schools and community initiatives — a remarkable contribution to Highett and the wider Bayside community.

25 years ago, a group of locals made a bold call to do banking differently.

They volunteered their time to make a difference. They were butchers, hairdressers, real estate agents, small business owners and community-minded locals.

They backed an idea that profits could stay local. That banking could create real, lasting impact. And they were supported in this bold idea by Bendigo Bank - and they started the 28th franchise in Community Bank Highett

That foresight has seen more than $4 million returned to local clubs, schools and community groups. 🙌

They’re not just shareholders. They’re local legends.

Now, as we open the doors to our new Highett branch, we do it alongside many of those original shareholders who made it all possible.

This is their legacy and what can happen when a community backs itself.

This National Volunteer Week, we’re celebrating the people who make our community what it is.

From coaching the local footy team, to running fundraisers, supporting schools and community groups… volunteers are the heartbeat of Highett.

And here’s something many people don’t realise…

Community Bank Highett is also guided by volunteer directors. Local people who give their time to help ensure the bank continues to grow and give back.

Because of this model, and because people choose to bank locally, more than $4 million has been returned to our community over the past 25 years.

That’s real impact, made possible by people giving their time and backing their community.

From a group of locals coming together to keep banking in Highett, to now returning over $4 MILLION back into local clubs, schools and initiatives… this is what happens when a community backs itself.
