Owning a home and running a business come with a lot of financial responsibility. So what happens if you become unwell and can’t work?

For our client, Rick Foster, it’s the “sleep at night factor” that helped get him through.

In the latest episode of Money and a Good Life, Rick talks about how having his financial advisers to lean on, and personal risk insurance to draw on, gave him peace of mind and a sense of financial security when he became unwell and was unable to work. It helped him manage the financial responsibility of his home and his business, while he focused on getting better.

What an event! Tribeca was grateful to be a supporter of Melbrowne.'s Her Wealth, Her Way event recently held in Sydney.

Hosting more than 1000 women at City Recital Hall, Sydney, Mel, guest speakers, panellists, specialists and a contingent of Tribeca’s tribe attended all with the aim to educate about money and finance.

Pete, Rach and Amac spent the day chatting with women about what they want their money to do for them.

A big thank you to Mel Browne and her team for creating such a warm, welcoming event. Thank you also to Clare and everyone behind the scenes for having Tribeca along.

What does a Good Life mean to you?

For long-time Tribeca client Rick Foster, it's balance, knowing what works for him, and doing things with purpose.

On the latest episode of Money & a Good Life, Rick joins Ryan Watson and Rachael Holder to talk about how income protection, total and permanent disability (TPD) and key person insurance supported him, his family and his business while he focused on his health. He also shares why it mattered to have advisers advocating for him through the claims process.

It's Mental Health Month, and Rick's story is a timely reminder that looking after yourself and looking after your finances can go hand in hand.

Many of us insure our house, car, contents and even our phones. But what about our ability to earn an income?

Rick Foster, a long-time Tribeca client, writer and men's mental health advocate, joins Ryan Watson and Senior Adviser Rachael Holder on Money & a Good Life to share his story.

Rick explains how income protection, total and permanent disability (TPD) and key person insurance gave him, his family and his business financial security while he stepped away to focus on his health. He also reflects on how much it mattered to have his advisers advocate for him through a difficult and, at times, complex claims process.

Our inaugural video episode, shared during Mental Health Month. Thank you, Rick, for sharing your story.

Footy Colours Day at Tribeca 🏉🏏

Last week, our Social Club ran its annual Footy Colours Day, and the Tribe came dressed in their favourite team's colours (AFL, NRL, cricket, you name it).

Lunch was on the Social Club, with party pies and sausage rolls, while a handball competition ran alongside the reveal of the season's footy tipping results. Congrats to Ben for his $100 prize!

9 in 10 advised Australians say the benefits of financial advice outweigh the cost.

Based on this stat, it's easy to assume that value comes from investment performance. But the Advice Association Australia - FAAA's Value of Advice Index found clients' answers are broader: peace of mind, clearer decisions, and a trusted partner, particularly when life gets complicated.

That's because good advice works on two levels. There's the technical side, getting the strategy right. And there's the human side, having someone in your corner who understands what you and your family want to achieve and helps you get there with confidence.

Financial advice often gets reduced to numbers: returns, fees, strategies. But that's only part of the story.

The real value of a skilled adviser is twofold. There's the technical side, the tax structuring, the cash flow modelling, the strategy. And there's the other side, a trusted, empathetic adviser who understands what you're trying to achieve for you and your family, who challenges your thinking, and who helps you make decisions with confidence.

People come to advice for different reasons. Some want a second, informed perspective before a significant decision. Others aren't sure what they want yet and need help figuring it out. And some are doing fine but want an expert eye to make sure they're not missing anything.

What they have in common is wanting someone they can trust to help them think it through. Read more via the link below.

The cost of financial advice is a key factor to consider. How do you determine the value you’re receiving? It’s a great question, and one your financial advisor should be able to answer.

When should you speak to a financial adviser about an inheritance?

There's no wrong time to have that conversation. Many people find it helpful to speak with an adviser before they make any decisions, sometimes before the inheritance has been formally received. A trusted adviser can help you understand your options, think through the implications, and plan in a way that aligns with your broader goals.

We believe there are five key points to consider when you're navigating an inheritance. Read more via the link below.

It's hard to believe it's been almost two years since we launched Tribeca's Money & Good Life podcast with the wonderful Steph Coombes.

This week's episode marks Steph's last as cohost when she has talked us through interviews with some brilliant guests, more than a few random car facts (Supercars, Summernats, you name it), and yes, the occasional dating life update over coffee.

The good news? Steph is off to live her good life at News.com.au Lifestyle as a motoring journalist, which makes perfect sense – her dream role. Congratulations, Steph, we’ll be following along. Thank you for the laughs and the valuable conversations.

While Steph may be leaving, the podcast isn't going anywhere. There's exciting news to come, so watch this space.

You can catch this week's episode wherever you get your podcasts.
