Yesterday, the banking and mortgage broking community in South Australia lost one of its true pioneers. Sadly, Mike Sendy from KMS Finance Brokers passed away. Mike was one of the early few to break away from "bank land" and play a foundational role in building the SA mortgage broking industry.

I was incredibly privileged to have Mike as a mentor and a friend when I started out 18 years ago. He gave me the opportunity to work at KMS Finance, where he taught me how the business should be done. Mike's philosophy was simple: forget the corporate garbage you learn working for a bank, keep it real, and just look after your clients.

I will be forever grateful to Mike and his family—Kent, Evan, and Leslie—for giving me a shot all those years ago. I doubt I would have survived in this business without them. Rest in peace, Mike.

The latest inflation figures were released today and they weren't as bad as was probably expected, which is a good (sort of) sign for rates. However it's the next couple of months that are going to be a lot more important as we all know what is going on with petrol prices at the moment 🥺
