In honour of World Environment Day 🌏 (which was 5th June)

Can we all agree it’s time to stop storing receipts:
❌ In gloveboxes
❌ In random handbags
❌ In kitchen drawers
❌ As blurry photos from 2022

Cloud bookkeeping systems exist for a reason 😅

Attached documents + organised records = easier audits, smoother tax time, and far less stress.

Your future self will love you for it. Ask us how to go paperless for your bookkeeping!

It’s National Donut Day 🍩

Which honestly feels appropriate…

Because bookkeeping is a bit like donuts:
When everything is organised properly, life is much sweeter.

But when things are messy…
you end up covered in stress and wondering where it all went wrong 😅

Here’s your reminder to:
✔ Reconcile your accounts
✔ Upload your receipts
✔ Reply to your bookkeeper’s emails 😉

Happy Friday!

Running a business is hard enough without wondering if your bookkeeping is up to date.

The businesses we work best with don’t want to “wing it” financially.

They want:
✔ Weekly bookkeeping
✔ Clear systems
✔ Reports they can rely on
✔ No missed deadlines
✔ Compliance handled properly
✔ A real human who knows their business

Good bookkeeping isn’t just data entry.
It’s structure, clarity, and peace of mind.

And when your numbers are current, better business decisions become a whole lot easier.

One Month to Go: Payday Super is coming

From 1 July, super will need to be paid at the same time as wages — not quarterly.

This change means businesses will need to be more consistent with their payroll processes and cash flow management.

Now is a good time to review your systems and make sure everything is set up to handle the change smoothly.

Getting prepared early will make the transition much easier.

Which financial reports should you actually be looking at?

Many business owners focus on the Profit & Loss — and while it’s important, it’s only one piece of the picture.

To really understand your business, you should also be reviewing:
• Balance Sheet — what you own and owe
• Aged Receivables — who owes you money
• Aged Payables — what you need to pay
• Cash Flow Forecast — what’s coming in and going outof the actual bank
• Budget vs Actuals — how you’re tracking against your plan

Looking at these regularly gives you a clearer, more complete view — not just how you’ve performed, but where things are heading. But, they will only be useful if your bookkeeping is up-to-date AND accurate!

Financial reports are only useful if you understand them.

Clear, accurate data should make it easier to see what’s happening in your business — not harder. You should be able to look at your numbers and feel confident in what they’re telling you.

If something doesn’t quite make sense, it’s always worth asking the question. Sometimes it just needs a bit more context or explanation.

Your bookkeeper is there to help you understand your numbers, not just prepare them — so you can make informed decisions with confidence.
