✅ Mobile phone

✅ Medicines & first aid supplies

✅ Toiletries

✅ Protective clothing

✅ Passport

✅ Birth certificates

✅ Marriage certificate

✅ Medical documentation

✅ Property titles

✅ Bank and financial documents

✅ Insurance documents

✅ Qualifications

✅ Wills

Important documents can be scanned and loaded onto a laptop or hard drive, or copied and kept safe in a waterproof bag or box.

As Qld and NSW awake today, it's shaping up to be an active thunderstorm day, with potentially dangerous conditions focused around SE Qld and NE NSW.

Did you know that on average 50 Australians die every year from residential fires - most of these deaths are preventable.

More Australians are killed in residential fires each year than through natural hazards - floods, storms and bushfires according to a study funded by Macquarie University and the Bushfire Batural Hazards Co-operative Research Centre.

Be safe and be aware, take a minute to read this from QFES.

If you’re snuggling up in front of the fireplace this winter, make sure you’re aware of the risks involved. House fires can start in the fireplace or chimney and can be easily avoided by following these simple steps:
❌Keep your fireplace, wood heater and stove clean
❌Place a metal mesh screen around open fireplaces
❌Use only seasoned (old and dry) hardwood
❌Never burn cardboard boxes or rubbish in a fireplace
❌Never leave an open fire unattended
❌Dispose of ash correctly
❌Extinguish fires completely by smothering it with ash before going to bed or leaving the house
