Your buying budget is generally:

Loan amount + savings − purchase costs = your property budget

Purchase costs can include transfer duty, conveyancing, government fees and inspections. Allowing for these costs before you start looking can help you focus on properties that genuinely fit your budget.

It's easy to set up a home loan and then not think about it again for years.
But your interest rate, your property value and the deals available from lenders can all change over time.

If you've had your home loan for a while, it may be worth checking whether you could:
✔️ Get a better interest rate
✔️ Reduce your repayments
✔️ Pay your loan off sooner
✔️ Consolidate other debts
