What a wonderful day at the Ardeer Parish Feast Day!

It was a great pleasure to be part of this special celebration, marking 25 years of the Parish of Dormition of the Mother of God. It was lovely to see so many familiar faces gathered together, enjoying conversations and celebrating the parish and community.

We are so grateful to be among the families, parishioners, staff, and friends who make the Ardeer parish community so warm and special. We are proud to keep supporting it throughout the years.

Today, we celebrate Ukraine 🇺🇦 , its independence, history, culture and identity, and most importantly, its people.

For generations, Ukrainian communities have kept our language, culture, traditions and memories alive, bringing them from one generation to the next, and from Ukraine to communities around the world.

Community has always been a source of strength. It’s where we come together, share our stories, celebrate our heritage and shape the future we want to see. Today, we also recognise the courage, resilience, warmth and strong sense of community that embody the Ukrainian spirit.

At a time when the people of Ukraine continue to defend their freedom and independence, today carries an even deeper meaning.

For Dnister, this connection is particularly special. More than 65 years ago, we were founded by members of the Ukrainian community who came together to support one another and build a stronger future. That spirit of unity and looking after one another remains at the heart of who we are today.

There’s something special about seeing communities come together ✨

Recently, our team member Marika Mccue visited the Ukrainian Central School in Sydney together with the Latvian School, where children shared stories and traditions, practiced language skills, and celebrated cultural diversity. It was a wonderful reminder that while every journey is different, many of us are working towards the same goal: creating a brighter future for our children.

One mum put it very simply. She said she’d always wanted to start saving for her daughter but kept putting the decision off. Eventually, she made a promise to herself: every six months, she’d put away $2,000 in a term deposit. It didn’t feel like a huge commitment, but knowing she was steadily building financial security for her daughter’s future gave her real peace of mind.
