🧡 A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of the Touch of Orange Lunch on Wednesday in support of Elsie’s Retreat Project . The dedication of the amazing Orange Army shone through, helping raise vital funds for the new Wyong Hospital palliative care unit, which is on track to open in April 2026. Morgans were proud to support and attend! 💛

It takes a village to raise a child, and it also takes a village to support our elders with dignity and care.

In Wednesday Sophie was honoured to be part of the Central Coast Dementia Alliance Dementia Expo at Mingara Recreation Club. After months of planning, it was so inspiring to see our community come together to connect, learn, and help break down the stigma around living with dementia.

Sophie was deeply moved by two carers who bravely shared their journeys, and truly inspired by Bobby Redman & Robyn Rex, who spoke with such honesty about their experiences of being diagnosed and living with dementia. A special thank you to Jason van Genderen, who shared his family’s journey with Omas Applesauce while guiding the day so beautifully as MC.

Sophie was accompanied by Tre, who enjoyed interacting with the community at his first event.

As a Retirement and Aged Care Specialist, events like this remind Sophie how important it is that families feel supported. Not only emotionally and medically, but also with the practical and financial decisions that come with this stage of life. No one should walk this path alone.

As part of Dementia Action Week 2025, to be held from Monday, September 15th to Sunday, September 21st, the Central Coast Dementia Alliance invites you to a special event at Mingara Recreation Club on Wednesday, 17 September, 2025, to raise awareness, advocacy, and support for people living with dementia and their carers.

The event will feature a dynamic program of presentations, performances, and discussions, highlighting the voices and experiences of those impacted by dementia.
