What is Mortgage Prison???
Mortgage prison is where borrowers are unable to switch to a mortgage with a lower interest rate and lower repayments as they do not meet the lending criteria (borrowing capacity) that is required to refinance.
The good news is that some lenders have relaxed their servicing calculators for refinancers that have a good payment history and sufficient equity.
Only a few select lenders are participating, so reach out if you are in this situation...

Most lenders have now developed a process to assist with a repayment pause for home loans due to the Coronavirus. The standard seems to be a repayment pause for 3 to 6 months with most lenders. Please let me know if you need any assistance. It is very important that if you are in financial hardship that this is actioned prior to being in arrears.
