9 great local volunteers were awarded the Community 2121 Awards this week and we brought them together to celebrate!

Two young people were nominated for their contributions to Beecroft Football Club and Sunday Street Feed. 7 adults represented a wide variety of organisations - from cooking meals for the homeless for Dignity , leading the very busy Epping Creative Centre, volunteering in sport at North Epping Rangers Sports Club , helping older residents at the Indian Seniors Group, or being Chair of CCA New South Wales - an Eastwood-based charity very active in our area. We also acknowledged the years of work of our former Chair - the Board of Community Bank Epping are all volunteers!

Volunteering contributes an immense amount to our local area, and is very rewarding. So it was great to recognise these individual's efforts. Read more at https://www.edfs2121.com.au/2026-community-2121-awards/

Epping is lucky to have a range of groups that offer retired locals new activities and the chance to meet others socially. There's Epping Senior Citizens Club and the Indian Seniors Group who both meet in the room under Epping Library, and a seniors group that gathers at All Saints in North Epping.

Community Bank Epping has been pleased to help a number of clubs and projects with community funding. This helps clubs to organise events, buy new equipment, and hold events.

Thanks to everyone who supported The Can Campaign collecting cans and bottles at last weekend's Rangers Day. This was an initiative of a local student and she is busy recycling everything. The funds raised will go to childhood cancer research organisation RUN DIPG . Well done, Aaira!

Supporting local groups and charities through funding is important to Community Bank Epping. As a community bank, we want to help those who make a difference in our community.
This year's Director's Grants program was announced last week. These grants have helped a school P&C, special children's help centre, local community theatre and orchestras, disability, domestic violence and homelessness services.
Our grants night brought together these diverse organisations - they all have community and service at their heart. Read more https://www.edfs2121.com.au/directors-grants-2026/

Can the can on Sunday at Rangers Day! On this important day for the North Epping community, locals will gather at North Epping Oval for presentations, fun fair, picnics and fireworks.

But all the fun creates a lot of waste. This year North Epping Rangers Sports Club is supporting a local student and her Can Campaign. Aaira will be collecting as many cans as possible during the afternoon. She will then be recycling them at Return and Earn (with help from the guys at the North Epping Men's Shed). The funds raised are going to RUN DIPG - a charity researching childhood cancers.

Community Bank Epping is delighted to support Aaira with this great initiative. So watch out for her at the bank marquee and out collecting around the field. And can your cans!
