Next week, I’ll be in Clermont for the Clermont Beef Expo! 🐂

If you’re in Clermont or the surrounding district, I’d love to catch up in person and have a chat about finance.

Whether you have a specific finance question, are considering a purchase or refinance, or simply want to start planning ahead for 2027, let’s make some time to talk.

Send me a direct message and I’ll share my calendar link so we can find a time to catch up while I’m in the area.

Looking forward to seeing some familiar faces and meeting a few new ones!

FRIDAY FINANCE | Is your borrowing power shrinking?

We recently worked with a client looking to buy a unit in Sydney. We’d assessed their borrowing capacity and identified how much they could borrow — but then interest rates rose, and suddenly, we could no longer demonstrate that the loan was affordable under the bank’s servicing requirements.

It’s a real example of how quickly borrowing capacity can change.

With rising interest rates and the ongoing cost-of-living pressures, your ability to borrow may be eroding faster than you realise.

🏡 Thinking about buying, selling or refinancing in the next 6–12 months?

Don’t wait until you find the property you love to find out your borrowing power has changed.

Get in touch with Golden Triangle Finance Group and let’s talk about what rising interest rates could mean for your plans.

Good business with good people. 🤝

💰 Money Monday | ANZ & Suncorp: What does the change mean for you?

With ANZ’s acquisition of Suncorp Bank, many Suncorp clients are wondering what happens next — and whether it will affect their ability to borrow.

The important thing to understand is that not all bank lending policies are the same. Differences in credit policy can have a real impact on your borrowing capacity, your next purchase or your ability to refinance.

🎥 In this week’s Money Monday, I cover:
✔️ What ANZ’s acquisition means for Suncorp clients
✔️ Key differences in ANZ’s credit policies that could affect borrowers
✔️ My advice and top tips for clients transitioning from Suncorp to ANZ
✔️ What to consider if you’re planning to borrow, refinance or grow your business

My biggest tip? Don’t wait until you need finance to understand your options. If you’re a Suncorp client, now is a good time to review your current lending arrangements and understand how any policy changes could affect your future plans.

Every borrower’s situation is different, and the right strategy can make a significant difference.

Watch this week’s video, and if you’re a Suncorp client with questions about what this means for you, get in touch with our team at Golden Triangle Finance Group.

Are we in an Economic Winter?

It certainly feels like it.

Higher oil prices.
The ongoing Iran conflict and global uncertainty.
Interest rates back up to 4.60%.
Inflation still proving stubborn.
Changes coming through the Federal Budget.
And a general sense that everyone is being asked to stretch a little further.

For households, it can feel like uncertainty.

For business owners, it can feel like caution.

And for anyone thinking about buying property, refinancing, investing or expanding, it can feel like the worst possible time to make a move.

But here’s the thing about winter…

It doesn’t last forever.

And historically, some of the biggest opportunities can appear when confidence is low — because other people are sitting on the sidelines.

That doesn’t mean taking unnecessary risks.

It means getting your numbers right.

It means understanding your cash flow, knowing your borrowing capacity, reviewing your debt structure and being prepared to act when the right opportunity comes along.

Economic winters reward preparation.

So instead of only asking:

“What could go wrong?”

Maybe we should also be asking:

“Where are the opportunities that other people aren’t seeing right now?”

💬 How is the current economic climate making you feel — cautious, optimistic, or somewhere in between?

Last Saturday, Golden Triangle Finance was proud to sponsor the Rural Women Unite luncheon for the fifth year in a row.

Over the past five years, we’ve contributed $45,000 to Rural Women Unite, supporting their work with the Virtual Psychologist.

On Saturday, the Rural Women Unite community came together to raise more than $100,000 for the Virtual Psychologist — helping provide people in regional and remote communities with access to immediate psychological support, without waiting days, weeks or months for an appointment.

For a small business that has only been operating for four and a half years, being part of something like this is pretty special.

But for us, it’s not really about the money. It’s about community.

It’s about bringing women from across rural and regional North Queensland together to share stories, celebrate each other and enjoy a day together.

At Golden Triangle, we specialise in finance, but often the biggest part of our role has very little to do with finance.

It’s sitting down with a client who is worried about their financial future. Listening when things feel overwhelming. Helping families navigate the financial and relationship side of succession. Finding a way forward when a bank has said no. Or simply providing a safe space to talk about money, business, family and what comes next.

We believe strong communities are built when people look after each other.

That’s why, over the past four and a half years, Golden Triangle has contributed more than $80,000 through sponsorships and donations to local communities — from school fetes and local shows, to bull sales, Beef Expo's, fundraising events and sporting clubs.

Because the communities that support us are the communities we want to support.

And we couldn’t do it without you — our clients, referral partners and the broader community who continue to trust us with your finance.

Thank you for supporting our business and allowing us to be part of something bigger than finance.

From our Golden Triangle family to yours — thank you for being part of our story.

Congratulations to Rural Women Unite, they raised over $100,000 at Saturdays luncheon for the Virtual Psychologist

What started as an event that raised $10,000 has now blossomed into one of the biggest fundraising events in North QLD and we couldn’t be prouder to be involved as the major sponsor.

We've been working with the Karragarra Simmentals for 15 years - back when their business was in its infancy and they needed a loan for some livstock.

What a ride its been - a few sleepless nights for us all over the last 15 years!!

These are the clients we love to work with - those that want to grow and be better than they were last year.

A guest speaker like no other - Gayle Shann - Goosebumps!

When someone looses the use of both their arms yet they talk about how lucky they are - perspective!

Not a dry eye under the shed when she was finished.
