Following the closure of the last financial institution in Dingley Village in December 2000‚ the Chamber of Commerce sought support from the community for a Community Bank®. Coincidentally‚ at the same time the support was being raised‚ another financial institution announced its closure. Faced with no banks in the Dingley Village Community the community support was strong and a steering committee was formed. Pledges were raised and a feasibility study conducted. In September 2001 our company was formed and a prospectus was issued to raise the required capital in November 2001. Notwithstanding the Christmas/New Year period‚ $630‚000 in capital was raised from the share offer‚ premises secured and fitted out and staff recruited. Our shareholder meeting was a very successful social night with more than 350 people in attendance‚ followed by our bank branch opening the next day. The strong support from this community got our bank branch off to a good start. We formally opened our doors on 22nd April 2002 with no business, no loans, and no deposits in our branch but a community full of support. We set a new metropolitan record by opening 247 accounts and having banking business of $887‚946 in the first week of business. We now hold over $200 million worth of banking business and we employ ten staff. We have contributed over $2.3 million of profits back to the community. Through grants and sponsorship we have supported football, netball, cricket, baseball, scouting, aged care, service clubs, schools, the neighbourhood centre and numerous other community groups to continue to offer their services, particularly when the Global Financial Crisis hit and donations from alternative sources become scarce.

The stage is set for an epic Grand Final Saturday, and we couldn’t be prouder to stand behind the mighty Dingoes!

Tomorrow at RSEA Park, the Dingley Football Netball Club Seniors (Div 1) and Reserves take the field on the biggest stage of the season.

For the third year running, Dingley faces arch-rivals Cheltenham in the Div 1 decider — a fierce, respected rivalry that showcases the absolute pinnacle of local Southern Football Netball League (SFNL) footy. With the Reserves also charging through to the big dance, Saturday is set to be electric from opening bounce to final siren!

What a sensational 2026 season it has already been across the entire club. Huge congratulations once again to the club’s phenomenal netballers who have already brought home silverware with both the Div A1 and B3 Premierships! 🏐🥇

Lights, community, action! 🎭 Introducing the "Community Open Day" a Community Co-Creation Theatre Project in Dingley Village, run by the talented Melbourne Chinese Arts & Theatre Inc.

Thanks to the unique community banking model, we were able to help bring this fantastic initiative to life. The project was held in June and brought together residents from all walks of life, creating new connections and making the arts accessible to everyone in Dingley Village.

It’s a powerful reminder of how performing arts can strengthen the fabric of our community.

As Shawn Shi from the project said, "The generous support from Community Bank Dingley Village enabled us to bring co-creation theatre to local residents, creating a strong sense of belonging and cultural connection in the community."

HISTORY MADE AT SOUTER OVAL! 🏆⚪🔵

A massive, congratulations to the Dandenong West Football Netball Club Senior Men’s team on taking out the SFNL Division 4 Premiership yesterday!

In an absolute thriller at Souter Oval in Dingley, the West held strong to defeat St Johns by 11 points, bringing home the silverware and securing the club’s first ever senior football Grand Final victory in its 63 year history! 🥇🎉

Our Community Engagement Advisor, Emma, was right there on the sidelines to witness this unforgettable milestone. The atmosphere was incredible, with a massive, passionate supporter base turning up to bring the noise and cheer the boys home across every contest. 📣🙌

For the very first time in history, the Masala Dandenong Football Club Division 5 Thirds are heading to the GRAND FINAL this Sunday! 🎉

Over the last 3 years, this club has undertaken an incredible rebuild, creating one of the most welcoming, inclusive, and passionate cultures in local footy.

From breaking their long dry spell during last year’s unforgettable match with Fev & Guy Sebastian, to booking their spot on the biggest stage of the year, the journey has been nothing short of inspiring.
