More pain may be on the way for mortgage holders. Inflation has come in higher than expected, increasing the risk of another RBA rate hike. Homeowners could soon face even higher repayments.

: Australian mortgage holders have been dealt a fresh blow, with the CPI inflation figure rising from 3.7% to 4.6% this March quarter.

The latest figure marks Australia's highest inflation since September 2023, when the Australia's economy was rebounding after COVID-19.

The Reserve Bank is now expected to announce another interest rate hike next week in response.
